Guest guest
Also, even within the standard Veterinary world there is a serious movement AGAINST getting yearly vaxes. Many conventional vets now only recommend 3 years for Rabies, and 2 years or more for Parvo and distemper. So I'd look around for a more friendly vet who is up on the new research and recommendations of a few pet advocacy groups. Wish I knew the websites off hand but a Clusty search will yield what you're looking for. (I do not use Google due to their BLATANT misuse/abuse of users info and terrible privacy policies)

Guest guest
I totally concur with Ingrid and the others here who've commented on pet vaccines. I'm glad you posed this question to the group. I'd like to invite you to listen to a show we recently did with Dr. Dodds and Kris of the Rabies Challenge Fund (http://www.rabieschallengefund.org) and also one with O'Driscoll, founder of Canine Health Concern. 's first book, What Vets Don't Tell You About Vaccines, is rather eye opening. She has a 2nd book entitled " Shock to the System " that elaborates further on vaccines and commercial pet foods and a brand new DVD out called, " In Search of the Truth About Dogs " . She has been fighting the vaccine protocols for pets in the UK since the early 90's and has taken a lot of heat for it but she has stuck to her guns about this. You can find her books and DVD at http://www.dogwise.com and visit her website at http://www.canine-health-concern.org.uk - She has a huge following here in the USA. Here are the links to the two shows: http://www.animaltalknaturally.com/2008/08/15/the-truth-about-dogs-show-188/ http://www.animaltalknaturally.com/2008/08/05/duration-of-immunity-the-rabies-va\ ccine-challenge-show-185/ On each of those there are other links to other shows of a similar vein and lots of resources to help you on the site. Guest guest
Hi Kim, Kris does a wonderful job and anybody fighting the system is ridiculed and vilified. In the small village where I live, I convinced all my neighbors and friends to stop vaccinating their dogs with totally useless annual " booster " shots and to feed their animals proper food, i.e. fit for human consumption, not containing (genetically modified) grains and soya, toxic preservatives, colorants, flavorants and what have you. Our animals were never designed to chew on some dry pebbles in the first place. And no vet will ever tell pet owners that an adult dog does not need to be vaccinated against the corona virus, which is solely a puppy disease and self-limiting. The same goes for " kennel cough " , which may have a bacterial or viral cause, comparable to the common cold in humans. One of my dogs caught it recently, although my animals never have contact with other dogs. Contrary to the " advice " given by the receptionist ( " you must bring the dog in for an anti-inflammatory injection (RED FLAG!!) and antibiotics " ), my vet confirmed that there was absolutely no need to do so and suggested to give her some warm milk with honey as she most probably had a sore throat. I put both dogs on 1000 mg Vitamin C and although it's highly contagious, my other dog never caught it. But hey, without annual booster shots a vet's income would drop dramatically by 73% and look at all these wonderful chronic diseases caused by vaccinations, i.e. allergies, auto-immune diseases, diabetis, arthritis, cancer which all need treatment with toxic blockbuster drugs! Ingrid I totally concur with Ingrid and the others here who've commented on pet vaccines. I'm glad you posed this question to the group. Guest guest
This has been a very informative thread and I want to thank everyone for their advice and imput. When I posed the question I was feeling unsure that anyone else would value the desire to protect my pets-- all of which are part of my family. I don't often even take pets to the vet mostly feeding them good diets/herbs/vitamins and nursing them at home if hurt or injured but a broken leg and hip was above my abilities. I am going to continue to study this issue so I will be better informed next time there is an emergency! Thankfully, Sadie has healed and should get her cast off Auguest 25th. Thanks again, Jan > > > > Hi Kim, Kris does a wonderful job and anybody fighting the system is > ridiculed and vilified. Guest guest
If a vets income goes down 73% without vaccinations, I wonder what a pediatricians income would drop without all the childhood vaccines and appointments to get them. Does anyone know. All Truth Goes Through Three Stages... 1. It is ridiculed 2. It is violently opposed 3. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident

Guest guest
Hi Ingrid, Yes, Kris does a superb job and does not back down. I'm glad she's advocating on this side of the vaccine issue! And there is a quote to that effect about being ridiculed and vilified which I've seen shared here a few times, a quote we keep on our site for that very reason: All truth passes through three stages: First, it is Ridiculed. Second, it is Violently Opposed. Third, it is Accepted as being Self-Evident. ~Arthur Schopenhauer And Ingrid, you have said it all in a nutshell the very truth we work hard to share with pet owners on vaccines and pet food. I'm glad you have stated all you have here. I think on this group we are preaching to the choir for the most part but I do hope those who are still not certain are heeding your words. And then to be challenged to research it all out for themselves :-) Dr. Kim > Hi Kim, Kris does a wonderful job and anybody fighting the system is > ridiculed and vilified. Guest guest
I am so glad you joined this forum Kris sent me tons of documents which I printed out and distributed in our community and the number of pet owners who would normally have fallen prey to the annual brainwashing exercise (new rabies outbreak) and rushed their animals to the SPCA for free rabies shots fell dramatically. We have two veterinary clinics in our small town, run by a couple of vets who no longer seem to like me. I wonder why?! May I ask which site you are referring you? I know most of the " doggy " sites and I am a friend of (doghealth2) and like her a fierce opponent of Pfizer's killer drug Rimadyl (and all other NSAIDs for that matter). Let me add another quote " There is nothing more frightening than active ignorance " (Goethe). Ingrid Hi Ingrid, Yes, Kris does a superb job and does not back down. Guest guest
In many cases it takes a tragedy to catapult parents of two and four-legged children into action. The number of all sorts of cancers in children and pets alike has risen dramatically and I blame it solely on our toxic environment and the junk injected into their blood stream for the " greater good " , accompanied by the scientifically nonsensical slogan that " the benefits outweigh the risks " . The only ones benefiting are the multi-million dollar coffers of the pharma mafiosi and their white-coat stooges who are supposed to do no harm. Pet owners who wouldn't dream of spraying their children or themselves with toxic flea products (in whatever form) don't give it a second thought when it comes to their animals. I lost two dogs (both 13 years old and never ill in their whole life) to Frontline. Both developed the same symptoms which ended in total paralysis of their hind legs. The active ingredient of Frontline is fipronil, a known neurotoxin and carcinogen, the inert ingredients are just as toxic. I always refer pet owners looking for a flea remedy to this website http://www.apnm.org/publications/resources/fleachemfin.pdf A simple apple vinegar (preferably organic) and water solution (50/50) gets rid of all fleas almost overnight. Ingrid Hello, I am mostly a lurker, but am going to join in on this one. I have 3 pedigree dogs, I feed them an almost raw diet (I do boil a few things, kidneys, livers, things they wont eat raw),I Do not use pesticides, top spot, heartworm meds, etc.. I treat them instead with artemesia complex and black walnut oil. I had all the puppy shots, but havent had any other vacs for 5 years. I cannot take them to the vet. If I did , he would push for boosters etc. Also I have to be very careful who I tell that I do not get them vaccinated. Although I have read that a rabies vax has an 8 to 10 year span. There are things I cannot do with them. For instance therapy work. Unless they have ALL their shots, they cannot be used as therapy dogs. I cannot fly them anywhere without proof of vaccines. I do not regret treating them this way, as on my breed lists I see so many dogs dying of cancer. Just my 2 cents, T. > > Dr. Kim > > > Hi Kim, Kris does a wonderful job and anybody fighting > the system is > > ridiculed and vilified. We have a few shows on the overvaccinating of pets there. The vet in opposition didn't like MY take on the whole thing which I found funny. He wouldn't comment against the other veterinarian, only me because I'm a veterinary naturopath. Hehe.
