You can do a search of "paraffin baths" on the internet to find out what products are available and the cost The paraffin bath was recommended to me by a hand therapy specialist. You can also use them for your feet. Guest guest
You know you are right about the dishes and heat. It all depends on my flare. If I just have stiffness heat really helps but if there is any inflammation or redness the heat just seems to make it worse. I used to have a hot tub before I was diagnosed and every time I got in it, I was miserable!! But lately, now that I'm on meds and being treated and not as much inflammation there are times I wish I still had that hot tub. The only downside is it was outside sometimes just not worth going into the weather to enjoy it. So thats when I just take a hot shower or do the dishes LOL. <catdelouise@...> wrote: Thanks for your responses, all. , it is funny that you mention the washing of dishes. That actually seems to make me worse, but I am not sure if it is the heat or just using my hands in that manner.Sometimes I am wondering if heat is even the right way to go as nothing seems to be helping. It is 11:30 and I have already taken a couple of Vicodin because I know with the way I am feeling now I will not be able to get through the whole day.In addition, I have a cold with laryngitis and now my Costochondritis is flaring b/c I have been coughing so much. I haven't been this sick in a long time.It is snowing a bit but I need to go to the grocery store for a few things. DH cannot do it as he has a rod in his leg and the 25 degree weather will kill him! I guess I am the least sick of the two of us.Woe is us.
