Merck Taps Rocker Gregg Allman to Raise Hep C Awareness

Liver transplant survivor and rocker Gregg Allman has signed up with Merck &

Co. and the American Liver Foundation as part of a public health campaign to

help raise awareness of chronic hepatitis C virus infection. Last year, Allmann

received a new liver after his was damaged by chronic hepatitis C. Merck's

Hepatitis C drug Victrelis was approved by the FDA last month.
