Guest guest
I am currently using the Humira Pen, also used the syringe. Most of us know how Humira burns:( With the syringe, at least I could inject the med in slow, but with the pen, it goes very fast, and burns SO badly. I dread using the pen each time. Guest guest
I get the same reaction with the Enbrel injection. Apparently it is the preservative in the solution that causes this to happen. When I used to take the injection twice a week (and mix it myself), I didn't have that reaction. However, as soon as I began the once a week, premixed solution, I experienced the intense burning sensation. I just steel myself for it and remember how much it helps. That helps me to get through this brief but uncomfortable experience. Guest guest
Ros,....When I used the Humira injection, I just injected the med slowly, it helped so much. I know how you feel, it's hard to be strong sometimes though, Take care, Tawny
Guest guest
Thanks for the response Tawny. I've been taking the Humira syringe once a week for about 2-3 years, so that's the reason I was wondering about the pen. I didn't even know it was available until a couple of weeks ago. I totally agree about the burn--I took my shot last night and it took about 3 mintues to get the medicine in because of the burn. I think I'll stick with the syringe. Guest guest
Kathy, I know people have their own opinions, and I do respect that. I would prefer the syringe too. I am going to talk to my doc about it next time. Just my 2 cents, Tawny
Guest guest
One thing you might try before injecting is to hold an ice pack on the site you are going to inject to numb it before you inject.

Guest guest
Jo Nell, I experience headaches once in awhile, but not often. It is possible the Humira is causing the migraines. Please, contact your doctor, I know living with migraines all the time, is horrible, take care Tawny
Guest guest
Kathy, I am using the pen, but was on the syringe awhile back. I find the med burns MORE using the pen, then using the syringe. With the syringe, you can slowly inject the med, with the pen, it goes in REAL fast. Tawny
