Guest guest
Cod liver oil has a lot of good things in it but one of those is a lot of Vitamin A.. This is a fat-soluble vitamin that can build up in the body to harmful levels so the amount needs to be controlled. I think we get a lot of Vitamin A from our normal diet and usually don’t need any more, especially if we take any supplements. Fish oil derived from the body instead of the liver of a fish is different in having a lot of good things including omega-3 and other fatty acids so taking a fish oil supplement is generally good. If you take any supplements please let your doctors know because sometimes taking supplements can be bad for some people. Also nutritionists in general know much more about supplements than doctors do so if you are really concerned I suggest also seeing a nutritionist. It does sound like you have a good protocol going and I’m glad to hear it is working well for you. God bless. I've been on 7.5 MG MTX, 1x a wk and 1OO mg Minocin Mon to Fri for 8 weeks. I'm aware of the fact that MTX may take 3 to 6 months to really kick in. I would say that I am better, The swelling around my left knee has gone down and the pain there lessened but it still has some way to go before it looks like the other knee again. I can't run because of that knee but walking up stairs is much easier!I am confident that the knee will improve within the next 3 months, God willing! The other joints have a low key buzzing pain. Overall, I am happy with the protocol. Minimal side effects have been experienced, a little tongue swelling. What is your opinion of cod liver oil for RA? Take care! Ken.
