This board is not very active but I’m

on a couple of others (as Grandpavan).  The more social one is

http://www.rheumamisfits.com/

and the more serious one is with the

Arthritis Foundation at

http://ww2.arthritis.org/communitiesnew/Forum/viewmsg.aspx?msggroupid=22

It’s not the same as meeting in

person but it can help to fill a void.

To meet in person you might see if there

is an Arthritis Foundation group near you.  Also Church or volunteer work are

good ways to meet people.  I hope you can make new friends, both cyber and in

person.  God bless.

[sPAM] Friends

I have another question. I know this isn't necessarily related to

RA...but... How easy is it for those of us on SSD to make new friends or

to keep up with old ones? The last I looked we may be disabled, but not

dead and there shouldn't be anything wrong with us socializing now and

then. I know I personally have a hard time meeting new people becuase

I've never had my drivers liscence and don't see how that would be an

affordable option. (Thank God for the city buses. While the

buslines we have in Indy aren't all that, they do have lines that run 7 days a

week.) I know I'm glad I'm going to school for another thing. The

interaction between students enabled me to make friends I'll always treasure.

I still want to keep in touch with people and while I'm also 51 and divorced, I

still think I'm reasonably attractive, I have a good personality, enjoy a good

laugh oh and did I mention not dead and I would give (almost) my eyeballs to

meet a decent, good caring man that I would have a lot of similarities with.
