Guest guest
You know,I have not been prescribed Levaquin for Lyme, but a couple of months ago I took it for an upper respiratory infection and remember feeling very good. Hmmmmm I'll be sure to discuss it with my LLMD on my next visit. I'd love to hear any positive responses on Levaquin as well. di
Guest guest
Levaquin is an antibiotic that another Lyme pt. is taking. Neither one of us had ever heard of this particular abx for Lyme so we were wondering if anyone else is on it. Her LLMD is excellent and her thought is that the doc may be AHEAD of other docs in the abx category. OR ... the doc is just searching for something else to try. LOL! So that's why I was asking ... to see if anyone else is on it or has been on it???? Jean
Guest guest
two years ago I was on levequin but it gave me severe tendinitis in my legs and I had to be taken off of it. Guest guest
Hi, there were only 2 probs that I recall with the Levaquin. One was very vivid dreams (maybe they were nightmares, honestly can't remember!) & the other was muscle pain in my legs @ certain times- 1st, I would wake up inthe morning & one of my knees would hurt like hell while I was lying in bed; as soon as I was up & around, it was all gone. 2nd- if I would have to stoop down, my thighs would kill me & I would have to hold onto something to get back up & then was fine. BUT, it was the first antibiotic that I had dramatic improvement with, so to me, it was worth it all. I stayed on it quite awhile, then after the doc & I felt it was time to switch antibiotics, the dreams & muscle pain all stopped. had read posts from others also talking about the muscle pain w/Levaquin I had been on Ceftin prior to the Levaquin for bladder probs, but never on both at the same time. I also take a high potency acidolphilus + Nystatin (which is also an anti-yeast Rx like Diflucan) & do fine on the Nystatin. Good Luck! Guest guest
I had a simular experience with levequin. My Dr pulled me off right away, as it was a bad side effect of the medicine NOT a herx reaction. Guest guest
Dear Sharon- I found this website and hope it will help you. I think the medication is not appropriate for someone with RA because it may be cancelling out the effects of the MTX as well as aggravating the condition. Here take a gander at this website. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/youropinions.php?opinionid=6421 On 7/13/07, Sharon Wertz <sbwertz@...> wrote: Anyone have problems with this antibiotic?
