That does sound like it is very

expensive. If it is durable as the insurance company says I wonder if you can

rent one from a medical equipment supply house at a much lower cost. I hope

you find some way to get what you need. God bless.

co-pay

I had

spinal fusion surgery on 3/27. tomorrow I have an appointment

with my surgeon. I need a bone-growth stimulator, I am told. It

appears to be a wide belt/back brace with what looks like a small

frisbee centered. It is to be worn over my spine, exactly over the 9

inch incision from my six (6) hour surgery. The secretary tells me

that my major medical insurance pays only 50% of the cost, as this is

classified as durable medical equipment. my co-pay is $1,500.00 ***

holey moses! Marcia

Hi Marcia, My father in law had to wear one of those after spine surgery. I am pretty sure we got it from a medical supply place for the cost of a prescription co-pay. Do you have prescription coverage? I will have to ask my husband and see if he remembers exactly how we got it or maybe if we still have it. I'll let you know if I find out any more info.
