The only people who need Hepatitis B shots at birth are I.V. drug users and prostitutes. That's it. Otherwise it's just to make money for the drug companies only. It's of no value to anyone else!

Many doctors do not understand why infants are given this vaccine if

the mother is not Hep B positive. It also wears off by the time the

child reaches middle school. There are so many risks associated with

this vaccine that France removed it from the market years ago and

several citizens (with deceased infants and adults with other lifelong

injuries) have gotten together to sue Merck and some other vaccine

manufacturer (can't recall the other). Not only have we lowered the

age of administration repeatedly, but we carry the same vaccine by the

same manufacturer!

This vaccine damaged the nerve to my son's right eye at 6 mo. of age 14

years ago. He also suffers from a Visual Processing Disorder (learning

disability) which I blame on the vaccine also.

controversial vaccines in the pediatric vaccination schedule. Why are we

giving it to newborns and what are the adverse reactions associated with

such an early vaccination?

What is Hep B?

Hep B is a very rare disease caused by the Hep B virus which primarily

affects the liver and is principally spread through the blood. Hep B may

lead to chronic infection and cirrhosis (scarring) which may then progress

to liver cancer. Approximately .2% of the population in America currently

have Hep B, leaving 99.8% of the population free of this virus. According to

the Center for Disease Control (CDC), approximately .001 percent of all

infants under the age of one year will contract Hep B and 95 percent of them

will recover on their own and never contract the virus again. In the U.S. in

2005, only five children under the age of five were reported to have been

infected with Hep B (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, March 30, 2007).

Furthermore, the U.S. continues to have the lowest recorded levels of

Hepatitis in the world. According to the October 31, 1997 MMWR published by

the CDC, " Hepatitis B continues to decline in most states, primarily because

of a decrease in the number of cases among injecting drug users and, to a

lesser extent, among both homosexuals and heterosexuals of both sexes. "

How do you get Hep B?

Hep B is transmitted from bodily fluids that are contaminated with the

virus. This can be done through unprotected sex, contaminated needles, blood

transfusions or vertical transmission from mother to child.

What is the Hep B Vaccine?

In November of 1991, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the

CDC recommended the universal vaccination of Hep B to every newborn in the

U.S. There are currently two types of genetically engineered hepatitis B

vaccines licensed for use in the U.S.: Merck's Recombivax HB® (each 0.5 mL

dose contains 5 mcg of hepatitis B surface antigen with formaldehyde, and

..5mg of aluminum (potassium aluminum sulfate)[1] and GlaxoKline's

Engerix-B® (each 0.5 mL dose contains 10 mcg of hepatitis B surface antigen

adsorbed on 0.25 mg aluminum as aluminum hydroxide, sodium chloride,

disodium phosphate dihydrate, and sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate [2].

When is the Hep B Vaccine Given?

The Hep B vaccine is the first vaccine given to newborns and is injected

within 12 hours of birth. The CDC then recommends a second injection at one

to two months of age and a third vaccination between six and 18 months

(regardless of manufacturer).

Why is the Hep B Vaccine Given?

This vaccine is given because of fear, lack of knowledge and corporate greed

from the vaccine manufacturers. Merck generates over $1 billion worth of

revenue from this vaccine alone. Most hospitals allow for screening of Hep B

in mothers prior to birth, but many do not do this. Even if the mother tests

positive for Hep B, there is only a 5% probability that the virus will be

passed from mother to child. We are ostensibly injecting helpless newborns

(nearly 1 million per year in the U.S.) with this vaccine with the false

belief that every mother already has Hep B and if they don't, we will be

protecting the future generation of promiscuous teens and drug users. The

CDC and FDA know that drug users and prostitutes will not get the vaccine

themselves and therefore it is better to vaccinate these potential drug

users and hookers when they are born. The CDC and Merck have collaborated to

misinterpret and skew the number of cases of Hepatitis B in the U.S. They

say each year up to 320,000 new cases occur, yet the CDC documents report

that only 10,000 new cases occur. Even of these 10,000 cases, 95 percent (or

9,500) will recover on their own and forever have natural immunity. This

type of misinformation and fear tactics are nothing new to Big Pharma, for

it is fear that allows one to control the masses and as a corollary,

numerous infants and families have forever been harmed.

Adverse Reactions to Hep B?

Accurate data on adverse reactions to the Hep B vaccine are very difficult

to come by due to scarcity or lack of reporting by many physicians as well

as blocked reporting data from the CDC. The most recent and complete data

from the VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) and government

agencies (CDC, FDA) are from July, 1990 to October 1999 and include 24,775

adverse reactions. These reactions include 439 deaths and 9,673 emergency

room visits. These reactions have included, arthritis [3, 4]; skin disorders

[5]; compromised immunity and autoimmune disease [6]; neurological damage;

vision loss and rare eye disorders such as optic neuritis [7] and

epitheliopathy [8]; blood disorders [9]; diabetes [10]; damage to liver and

kidneys [11]; severe vomiting, diarrhoea and death [12].

Because the reporting of adverse events to VAERS is completely voluntary, up

to 96 to 99 percent of these reactions are never reported [13].

Realistically, the number of adverse events following Hep B vaccination from

1990 to 1999 would be somewhere around 2.5 million (24,775 multiplied by

99). In addition to the above adverse reactions, additional severe reactions

have been reported from Merck and GlaxoKline Biologicals which include:

edema of the heart, chest discomfort, Guillain-Barre syndrome, fever,

hearing damage, bronchial spasms, hair loss, encephalitis, multiple

sclerosis, seizures, herpes zoster, Bells palsy, rash, visual impairments

and anaphylaxis [1, 2]. In October of 1998, France became the first country

to effectively ban the Hep B vaccine given to children due to an increase in

child arthritis, multiple sclerosis symptoms and other serious adverse

reactions.

From the above evidence we can conclude that if you wish to groom your

children to become future drug users who share needles or prostitutes (or

quite possibly both) then the risks of contracting Hep B may outweigh the

risks of receiving one of the many adverse reactions. But, if you are a

responsible parent and believe that your child is extremely unlikely to come

in contact with Hep B through such risky behavior (especially as a newborn

or infant), then clearly this vaccine is unwarranted. Furthermore, it is

safe to say that this vaccine should be removed from the American Academy of

Pediatrics infant vaccination schedule to prevent further damage and death

to our children. Interestingly enough, up to 87% of pediatricians believe

that the Hep B vaccine is totally unnecessary for newborns [14]. It seems

that the Hep B vaccine may be warranted in only the most exceptional of

circumstances much later on in life, but it has no place being anywhere near

our 12 hour old children with a very immature and underdeveloped immune

system.

A news report out of China, where about 125 million people are hepatitis B

carriers, reveals that any child or adult found to be hepatitis B positive

faces severe discrimination and societal sanctions while news reports out of

Japan reveal that mandatory hepatitis B vaccination programs have

transmitted hepatitis B infection. In France, families of hepatitis B

vaccine victims are suing drug giants GlaxoKline (GSK) and Sanofi

Pasteur for aggravated deceit and involuntary homicide for the crippling and

killing of children and adults, who were required to take the vaccine. The

families have been barred from suing two former French government health

officials who initiated and promoted the mandatory hepatitis B vaccination

program.

For more than 20 years, the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) has

been receiving reports that adults,children and infants are suffering

serious reactions to hepatitis B vaccine. Hepatitis B vaccine reaction

reports began to come in to NVIC's Vaccine Reaction Registry in the late

1980's from adult health care workers, who reported extreme fatigue, muscle

weakness, joint pain, loss of vision, memory loss, heart problems, and

development of multiple sclerosis after hepatitis B vaccination.

When the CDC recommended in 1991 that all healthy newborns at 12 hours of

age be given hepatitis B vaccine in the newborn nursery, reports of infants

dying after hepatitis B vaccination started coming in and continued all

through the 90's. When states started mandating the vaccine for all school

children in the late 1990's, parents began reporting that their bright,

healthy, honor roll students and star athletes were becoming brain damaged,

bed ridden and unable to attend school.

In 1999, NVIC published a report that in the U.S. there were more reported

cases of hepatitis B vaccine reactions than reported cases of hepatitis B

disease in children under 14 years old, an infection that is primarily

transmitted in the U.S. among adult high risk groups such as IV drug users

and those with multiple sexual partners.

The U.S., Europe and Canada have had historically low rates of hepatitis B

disease. In 1990, one year before the CDC told doctors to give every

American child three doses of hepatitis B vaccine, there were 21,102 cases

of hepatitis B reported in the U.S. out of more than 300 million Americans.

for the majority of healthy teenagers and adults, who come down with

hepatitis B infection, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, low grade fever,

pain and swelling in the joints, headache, and cough for two weeks before

the onset of jaundice and enlargement/tenderness of the liver that lasts for

three to four weeks. Fatigue can last up to a year but " most patients do not

require hospital care " and " 95 percent of patients have a favorable course

and recover completely " with the case fatality ratio being " very low

(approximately 0.1 percent) " according to on's Principles of Medicine

(11th Edition).

Those who recover completely from hepatitis B infection acquire life-long

immunity. One medical textbook (Robbins Pathologic Textbook of Disease)

points out that among those who do not recover completely from hepatitis B

infection, fewer than 5 percent become chronic carrriers of the virus, with

just one quarter of these in danger of developing life threatening disease

The tragic consequences of doctors promoting mass hysteria about infectious

diseases, like hepatitis B, and insisting on " no-exceptions " vaccine

mandates, are becoming clearer every day. The only hope that citizens of

every country have to protect their health and the health of their children

is to stand up and pass laws which allow informed, voluntary use of vaccines

and prohibit discrimination against those who have a disease or are vaccine

injured.

Many doctors do not understand why infants are given this vaccine if

injuries) have gotten together to sue Merck and some other vaccine

manufacturer (can't recall the other). Not only have we lowered the

age of administration repeatedly, but we carry the same vaccine by the

same manufacturer!

This vaccine damaged the nerve to my son's right eye at 6 mo. of age 14

years ago. He also suffers from a Visual Processing Disorder (learning

disability) which I blame on the vaccine also.

Nano vaccine for hepatitis B shows promise for third world

Nanoemulsion could save more lives by removing current vaccines' drawbacks

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Chronic hepatitis B infects 400 million people worldwide, many of them children. Even with three effective vaccines available, hepatitis B remains a stubborn, unrelenting health problem, especially in Africa and other developing areas. The disease and its complications cause an estimated 1 million deaths globally each year.

In many poor countries, refrigerated conditions required for the current vaccines are costly and hard to come by. It's often difficult in the field to keep needles and syringes sterile. The need to have people return for the three shots currently required also limits success.

Now, a new vaccine that avoids these drawbacks has moved a step closer to human trials. Health researchers hope it will make it possible to immunize large numbers of children and adults in Africa, Asia and South America efficiently and safely.

Scientists at the Michigan Nanotechnology Institute for Medicine and Biological Sciences at the University of Michigan report that a novel, needle-less method for getting an immunity-stimulating agent into the body has proved non-toxic and able to produce strong, sustained immune responses in animal studies. The vaccine is based on a super-fine emulsion of oil, water and surfactants placed in the nose.

The research was supported by the Grand Challenges in Global Health initiative, which is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, the Wellcome Trust and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The findings appear online in the journal PLoS ONE.

The nanoemulsion represents a new delivery method for an antigen already used in existing hepatitis B vaccines to activate the body's immune defenses.

"Our results indicate that needle-free nasal immunization, using a combination of nanoemulsion and hepatitis B antigen, could be a safe and effective hepatitis B vaccine, and also provide an alternative booster method for existing vaccines," says R. Baker, Jr., M.D., the study's senior author and director of the institute. He also is Ruth Dow Doan Professor and allergy division chief in the U-M Department of Internal Medicine.

The nanoemulsion is made up of soybean oil, alcohol, water and detergents emulsified into droplets less than 400 nanometers in diameter.

The study suggests that the new type of hepatitis B vaccine will not have rigid cold storage requirements and could require fewer administrations than current vaccines, which require three shots given over a period of six months. Protective immunity with the new vaccine required only two immunizations in animals. The vaccine also avoids the risk of spreading needle-borne infections.

The nanoemulsion vaccine also avoids the temporary pain and redness that results after people get shots with the current vaccines, in which an irritating compound, alum, is used as an adjuvant, or enhancer of a vaccine's effect. There was no local inflammation at the nasal site of administration with the new vaccine.

This finding may be significant, because one of the major concerns for nasal administration of vaccines is that they can find their way to the olfactory bulb in the brain and cause side effects, says E. Makidon, D.V.M., co-first author of the study and a U-M research fellow. "Our studies, however, indicate no inflammation and no evidence of the vaccine in the olfactory bulb," he says.

Baker's team has published earlier studies affirming the promise of nasal nanoemulsions as a strategy for smallpox, influenza, anthrax and HIV vaccines. The nanoemulsion technology is patented by U-M and licensed to Ann Arbor-based NanoBio Corporation. Baker is a founder and equity holder of NanoBio.

Research details: The research team determined effective doses of the antigen and nanoemulsion. In results obtained in mice, rats and guinea pigs, the nanoemulsion vaccine proved effective at producing three types of immunity: systemic, mucosal and cellular. Further toxicity studies in rodents and dogs showed the vaccine was safe and well-tolerated.

The vaccine was as effective as current hepatitis B vaccines in eliciting systemic protective antibodies in the blood of animals. The nanoemulsion acted as an effective adjuvant, without the need for a traditional adjuvant or inflammatory compound as in the current hepatitis B vaccines.

In addition, the nanoemulsion vaccine produced sustained cellular immunity in Th1 cells, which could make the vaccine useful in treating people with chronic hepatitis B whose own cellular immune responses are inadequate.

The animals given the nasal nanoemulsion in the study also activated a third type of immunity, mucosal immunity, which is gaining recognition among immunologists as a key first-line response to infectious agents in diseases such as hepatitis B where mucosal tissues are involved in transmission. Baker and his team found the same effect of activating mucosal immunity that was seen in their previous studies of other nanoemulsion-based vaccines.

The researchers tested whether the vaccine could remain stable and effective even if not refrigerated. They found the nanoemulsion vaccine retained its effectiveness for six months when kept at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit), and even was stable and effective for six weeks at 40 degrees C (104 degrees F). This suggests that refrigeration will not be needed for the final distribution of the vaccine in developing countries, making it easier to vaccinate underserved people.

Current studies are focused on developing the preclinical data required to enter human trials, Baker says. The researchers hope that the first human trial can begin within a year.

She should have that in her birth plan IN WRITING before going into the hospital. They very well may attempt to pressure her to consent immediately after she has given birth, which in my opinion is another ethical problem. My DIL had agreed with me that she didn't want it, then as soon as I turned my back (I was there for the birth) they came in and practically told her that the baby would die without it, and this wasn't 12 hours after she gave birth. If (tongue in cheek) this child is not an intravenous drug user nor

sexually active, then she is not at risk for Hep B. This is the big

scam in giving this vaccine. It prevents a disease that is conferred

through dirty needles and sex with partners who are infected, but the

vaccine is given to newborns.

I dont understand why any agent is given that is to stimulate the immune system of a human under 6 months.
