Hello group,

I'm writing request participation in my dissertation. I've had JRA

since I was 9 years old. I'm 30 now and I'm earning my doctorate in

psychology. I'm finishing my dissertation, which is on the topic of

how people's feelings influence their experiences with arthritis. I

went into psychology in hopes of better understanding the

psychological aspects of living with a chronic illness, esp.

arthritis, and how people may be able to lead more fulfilling lives

and find other treatment options for this condition.

I'm seeking anyone with rheumatoid arthritis between the ages of 12

and 80 year of age. If people are interested in participating, I will

request them to email me directly. Then, due to copywright laws I have

to send them the questionnaires, (I can't email them) They only take

15 minutes to complete. I include a SASE so they can drop the packet

in the mail when they're done. I maintain the strictest of

confidentiality with all responses. I keep the questionnaires in a

locked cabinet and I only use their mailing addresses for the sake of

sending them the questionnaires and sending them the results of the

study, if they wish to receive them. It's a quantitative dissertation

so I will be analyzing all responses statistically. Therefore,

everyone becomes anonymous in the dissertation and no names or

identifying information are revealed.

I would be so grateful for any participation at this point and

appreciate your time in this matter in advance.

Sincerely,

Serena
