Hi Jen --

n is out of town on vacation for a couple of weeks. He does take the

lozenges, but he lives in Australia, not the U.S. I gather from

Brown's post today that they are available in Canada also! I don't think

they are available in the U.S. yet; I could be wrong though. I'll do some

checking and see what I can find out. Or you could try contacting Amarillo

n,

Can you please send me your email about the lozenges? I couldn't read

email for a while (I had my SSDI hearing and was just too ill). I'd like

to learn how to get and try the lozenges. I didn't realize that they

were available now.

Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know. I went to the website and only saw info

about trials in progress for it for FMS but it didn't say anything had

been approved or not. I wrote them asking if it was available yet in the

US. I'm looking forward to trying it.

Moms are supposed to worry & over-react :-) I am not a doctor so this is

just my opinion. It may not hurt to see what another doctor has to say

about that dosage for a 10-year old. Use the enteric coated aspirin and

have him try to take them with food. Short term I would not worry too much.

My thinking (for myself) is sure there are side affects from aspirin but

when compared to side affects from other drugs (i.e. prednisone) or the

affects of the disease if he does not take aspirin at all, they are low. If

the desensitization is helping him I would say that that outweighs the side

affects of the aspirin.

BTW, is he taking them all at once or half the dose in the am and the other

half in the pm?

Hi everyone I just wanted to update you on n and to get some advice ok

On Monday we put n in the ICU and started to desenstize him the doctor

started him at 30 mg then moved him up to 45 mg and he had a drop in his pft

so the doctor redid the 45mg for the 2nd time and then brendan reacted with

some hives and snezzing and coughing and pft went down again so the doc gave

him the 45 mg again for the 3rd time so then ns pft went up a little

but still had a few hives so the Doctor said ok we can move on to 60 mg well

he did fine with that and so they kept him going all the way to 250 mg he

did fine with the higher doses so this all took 3 days to happen well so now

the doctor is telling me that he is desensitized so he said that n

would have to take 2 aspirin a day adult strength 325 mg each well he also

said some days he made need 4 a day depending on the weather so I'am really

worried about n being on that high of a dose could this be dangerous

for my son please keep in mind he is only 10 years old I know the doctor

said it would be ok but I just have this feeling that something is just not

right please I would love input and the truth or if anyone would have any

names of other doctors that maybe I should check with. Maybe I'am just a

worried mom and over reacting I dont know please help. thank you

: Make sure you are giving him enteric coated aspirin. Give it to him

just before breakfast and dinner so the food and the action of the stomach

sweeps the tablet out of the stomach. The easiest on of the stomach is not

the brand name Ecotrin but the stuff that Sam's club, Costco or Walgreens

puts out. It is the least espensive and I think- the best. I think it is

better than buffered. Carol

Hi ,

Regarding aspirin, I’m sure you will

get a lot of opinions both pro and con. I’ve been on 4 a day for almost

two years now and have researched it quite a bit. From what I have read, it

seems to me that the primary risk is to the stomach and esophagus. When I had

stomach burning, I started taking enteric aspirin and have not had any problems

since. I would bet that aspirin has been studied more than most other drugs

combined.

Dr. son didn’t seem to be

concerned about negative effects of long-term aspirin. Personally, I think it

is much safer than other drugs that it will replace – like the dreaded

Prednisone.

Hope this works for n. Give it time.

My desens took months before I saw the effect. You also have to make sure that

you get rid of all existing infections.

Good luck!

The stuffiness is probably just "leftovers" from the desense. It will take his body some time to adjust...

I have always taken 4 aspirin a day, 2 am, 2pm. If only taking 2 I am not sure if it will make a difference if they are both taken in the am or 1 am, 1 pm. They may be something you have to experiment with.

I don't think it has anything to do with the desens. You might want to have him irrigate for a while until things calm down. It will help a lot. Carol

Hi I have a question as some of you know my son n is 10 years old and he was desentizied in Oct. and he was doing so very well I had him on 625 mg of Aspirin and I also was buying the coated kind that some of you had suggested and things were great well about 2 weeks ago I noticed he was pail and just really tired just moving alot slower so I called the doctor and they did some blood work and found out that he is anemic ok I can not spell sorry but he is very low on Iron and so the doctor said to take him down to one aspirin a day 325 mg and they did a stool test to see if he was loosing blood well sure enough he is and so 5 days later they checked his blood again and it dropped alot so he put him down to one baby aspirin a day well with just going down to the one adult aspirin n started getting sick with sinuis stuff and a bad cough so now he still is really yucky so I could just imagen what the baby aspirin will do. Is there a way that he could take the iron pills

and still take the adult aspirin? I just do not want him to be sick all the time again and be on Pred 24/7 but I also dont want to harm his stomach with the aspirin. Should I request that they do something and look around his stomach to see where he is bleeding please help any info would be greatful. I’m so sorry to hear that n’s

not well again. To be honest I think you need a doctor’s advice re

taking aspirin and iron tablets together because each case would no doubt be an

individual thing, particularly given his age of 10. To take some adult

medication I know I’ve read that you need to be 12 but this may not apply

to aspirin. I’ve taken both myself years ago without any problems

but then my sister in law wasn’t able to. I can’t even go near an

aspirin now because of my reaction to it.

I’d be requesting as much

information as possible for n, in fact I’m surprised the doctor’s

haven’t asked your permission to sort this out. I know that an excess of

aspirin can cause bleeding (I’m basing this on what happened to my sister

in law at the age of 43). Even if you need to go to different doctors or

several, I’d try to move heaven and hell to sort it out. You must

be going through so much worry, not to mention how this is affecting n.

Let’s know how you get on and good

luck with it all – I hope n starts to feel better soon

Let’s know how you get on and good luck with it all – I hope n starts to feel better soon From: samters [mailto:samters ] On Behalf Of headSent: Thursday, 1 December 2005 2:49 AMsamters Subject: Re: n Hi I have a question as some of you know my son n is 10 years old and he was desentizied in Oct. and he was doing so very well I had him on 625 mg of Aspirin and I also was buying the coated kind that some of you had suggested and things were

great well about 2 weeks ago I noticed he was pail and just really tired just moving alot slower so I called the doctor and they did some blood work and found out that he is anemic ok I can not spell sorry but he is very low on Iron and so the doctor said to take him down to one aspirin a day 325 mg and they did a stool test to see if he was loosing blood well sure enough he is and so 5 days later they checked his blood again and it dropped alot so he put him down to one baby aspirin a day well with just going down to the one adult aspirin n started getting sick with sinuis stuff and a bad cough so now he still is really yucky so I could just imagen what the baby aspirin will do. Is there a way that he could take the iron pills and still take the adult aspirin? I just do not want him to be sick all the time again and be on Pred 24/7 but I also dont want to harm his stomach with the aspirin. Should I request that they do something and look around his stomach to see where he is

bleeding please help any info would be greatful. You guys are a very big support system thank you so much. and n <adalynbrendan@...> wrote: Hi everyone I just wanted to update you on n and to get some advice ok On Monday we put n in the ICU and started to desenstize him the doctor started him at 30 mg then moved him up to 45 mg and he had a drop in his pft so the doctor redid the 45mg for the 2nd time and then brendan reacted with some hives and snezzing and coughing and pft went down again so the doc gave him the 45 mg again for the 3rd time so then ns pft went up a little but still had a few hives so the Doctor said ok we can move on to 60 mg well he did fine with that and so they kept him going all the way to 250 mg he did fine with the higher doses so this all took 3 days to happen well so

now the doctor is telling me that he is desensitized so he said that n would have to take 2 aspirin a day adult strength 325 mg each well he also said some days he made need 4 a day depending on the weather so I'am really worried about n being on that high of a dose could this be dangerous for my son please keep in mind he is only 10 years old I know the doctor said it would be ok but I just have this feeling that something is just not right please I would love input and the truth or if anyone would have any names of other doctors that maybe I should check with. Maybe I'am

just a worried mom and over reacting I dont know please help. thank you Have a great day Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Try it free. Have a great day

n,

Can you please share with me what shampoo and stuff you use. My youngest and myself both have eczema and we break out if you look at us cross eyed. I have tried everything natural and not natural for shampoo and if they work (most naturals ones didn't for us), they break us out or we can't afford them. Thank you for any suggestions.

In my experience and research, eczema is no more than a lymphatic

system breakdown.. I am currently detoxing parasites and yeast..

Ringworm and eczema are just rashes of the skin because the toxins

trying to be removed via the skin get congested and stuck..have a

hard time getting expelled from the body..

If you cut out yeast from your diet and detox yeast.. It will get

better..

Tea tree oil is a good antifungal for stuff like that..
