Guest guest
I’m very sorry you have so many things wrong with you. One of the first things that I was given to control pain and permit me to function was Prednisone, a strong corticosteroid. This is a fast-acting treatment for the symptoms, but not good as a long-term treatment for the disease. Most real RA treatments usually take a few months to find out if they are going to work and in the meantime people often need some relief. I’m on more conventional medications (Methotrexate and Remicade) but some people get excellent relief from antibiotic therapy using derivatives of Tetracycline such as Minocycline or Doxycycline. You can read about these at the Roadback Foundation. Antibiotics are supposed to work on a special class of organisms called mycoplasma or cell-wall-deficient bacteria. I don’t really understand what that means but it sounds like something between a virus and a bacterium. http://www.roadback.org In another recent post I gave some links that may be of use to you also. Please check them out. I hope you get things better controlled. God bless. I just spent the past week in the University of Penn hospital and have been diagnosed with RA. Currently I have no treatment as all tests will take about 2 weeks to come back to determine their course of action. I make my return visit in two weeks and scared to death! The arthritis is in my hand joints, knees, ankles, feet tendons and toes. At this point I am on Dilaudid and Naproxen until the dreaded return visit just to control the pain for now. I actually do not know why I am posting...I guess I am just glad to know I am not alone. Thank you for taking the time to read my post!
