Guest guest
as far as i am concerned, the insurance companies are just as bad as the government / meds. i enhaled a toothfeeling in 1998ish which landed in my right lung. after the medical staff tried to suction it out (local hospital in spokane, wa) i ended up having to have it surgically removed. the right lung was 1/2 to 2/3's full of abysess and infection and 12 days in the hospital. the filling was one of the older fillings from back in the 60's or 70's. it took an ex-ray to find the stupid filling. can you imagine what could have happened if it went undetected? elaine h. Guest guest
This is big....between this and their meandering/awkward position on melamine, things are clearly changing. Insurance companies have no choice but to cover particular cases, but will try to avoid it of course for a while. Guest guest
I don’t think the Insurance companies are to blame… they struggle to comply with regulations and legal traps that Big Pharma and the Psychiatric profession creates… The policies are legal agreements and sometimes these are difficult to bend and if bent become a loophole. With the new laws on making mental health treatment equal to medical treatment be ready to see your premiums skyrocket since it has been obvious that if your policy paid 2 month for mental health treatment the treatment took 2 months. If it covered 6 months the treatment took 6 months and so on… now with no policy limit difference for mental health… well you get the idea. Add to that the cost of drugs and you can see that the insurance companies are not happy with the cards they are being dealt. And the insurance companies in 2000 were mandated to increase their loss reserves by 3X. These are moneys that they can’t spend… those that invested this money in shady mortgages are now losing their shirts. Now the Insurance companies are not goody goody guys either… they pay the best lawyers to help them make their contracts tight so that they can be profitable.
