Guest guest
Dear Harold, Thank you for your kind thoughts on Basil. The poem is lovely, I am praying I shall meet him again on Rainbow Bridge. Yes, I take folic acid also with the MTX but I do find that I am still getting very upset stomach problems. I am persevering because the relief to the RA symptoms has been very good. I also suffer from osteo arthritis and have suffered 2 fractures to my spine in the past 10 years, one in cervical area and one in lumbar, so I am mostly having to use my wheelchair or mobility scooter to get around now, can only walk very short distance and can hardly climb stairs at all these days. We have recently moved from a house to a single storey bungalow, so I am finding this wonderful because now I have the whole run of the house without having to attempt the stairs ! Since being on MTX I have been able to resume some hobbies, such as knitting and embroidery. Previously my hands were very bad and stopped me from these activities. I also love my garden and spend time growing seeds in the greenhouse and propogating plants. I use a stool because I cannot stand without great pain. Spring is coming and I am looking forward to getting my plants started. My husband, Ken who has retired now does all the actual gardening work, I call myself the artistic director !! Best wishes to you - Lynda Harold Van Tuyl <hvantuyl@...> wrote: I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved pet. Perhaps the story of the Rainbow Bridge will give you some small comfort. http://www.celebrity-pets.com/articles/rainbow-bridge-poem/ Also with respect to the side effects of Methotrexate, you may be able to lessen the side effects by taking Folic Acid or something like that. In the US it is usually given as 1 mg daily but some other countries have different dosing regimens. Also using injections instead of pills can reduce gastro problems. I hope you can get rid of this annoyance without losing the benefit of Methotrexate. God bless.
