I put my little Tibetan Terrier to sleep some three weeks ago on March 6. Her name was Tidbit -- a corruption of "Tibet" and in recognition of the fact that she was so small, only 13 #s. Perhaps she and Basil are romping and playing. Eugene O'Neill once wrote about his deceased dog:

"Two days ago we waded through the mud out to this grave beneath the pines at the foot of the hill to place a Christmas wreath on it, hoping he would look down from the Paradise of Ten Billion Trees and Unrationable Dog Biscuits and pity us."
