Guest guest
i had to share this experience with you. i took an 11 yr old into the clinic for a newly required t-dap? vaccine--this is another dpt vaccine for older children that nys has required--this according to the school nurse. first, i spoke with the nurse and the guidance counselor. now, this is a very conservative school district and not known for progressive thinking. imagine my surprise when both of them agreed with me about the dangers of vaccines. but the nurse said it was her job so she was doing it and if this child wasnt revaccinated then she would be thrown out of school. second, we went to the medical facility and i was tooling up for a situation. trying to keep it cool, i spoke with this man about taking a blood test to check for immunity. he said he couldn't because there was no known titer for whooping cough. ???? then i questioned why she needed all 3 vaccines if they were going after pertussis? he couldn't say anything except that all 3 foreign proteins produced a greater impact when given together --'for some reason.' and they didn't carry separate vaccines and i would have to go to the county health clinic (but there was no time do this). so when he finally realized i was very opposed to this he actually acknowledged that parents need to have a choice and cannot be forced to vaccinate. i explained the schools bullying behavior and lo and behold, he offerred to write a note saying this vaccine was inappropriate for this child. WOW!!!!! now we will see what the school does to her. tanya NYS Marquette Tamarque@...
