You are allowed up to 2000.00 in assets but that limit changes per state. I would call your local Social Security Office or look online. Just type into www.google.com " Medicaid in California " . Alot depends on your work history and if you are applying for emergency state aid or disability benefits. Medicare and Medicaid are immediately available to those who meet the yearly below poverty line cap for individuals/ families. Good Luck.
