Guest guest
Hi Lixunan, I'm on Lyrica and for me it has been the best drug for my fibromyalgia. The FDA just approved it for fibro a few months ago. I did not know it was a pain pill?? I know I sleep more since I've been on it but it sure has helped my muscle spasms'. It was not given to me for RA. I'm not a DR. so I'm just giving you the information that I am on. I would ask for pain pills to go along with it. Hope this helps. Take tender gentle care of yourself. Guest guest
I've been on Lyrica for Fibro for almost a month now. At first, I had a hard time with it. We had to miss Christmas with my husband's brother and his family because I was too dizzy to make the trip! That has mostly passed, it took about a week for the worst of it to go away. I still feel a bit unstable at times, but nothing I can't handle easily. The only ongoing problem I've had is sleeping. I feel tired, but when I lay down, my brain won't shut off and I have trouble going to sleep, or if I wake up during the night, going back to sleep. The one night I really slept well was when I was exhausted from a busy, busy day. Perhaps that the secret - now that I'm feeling better, I should get more exercise! The Lyrica has helped the pain so much, I'll happily deal with the insomnia. Guest guest
I have never had a problem sleeping until coming down with EBV and RA. Now...I take a sleeping pill each night....Lunesta....otherwise 4 hours and that's it and I am a person who cannot function without sleep. It works for me...that's all I can tell you. Guest guest
Hello Lixuan! If it helps any, I was on Lyrica for a bit and gained 9 lbs in a week. Due to having inflammatory arthritis in the knees that are always swollen with fluid, I had to stop the meds right away. It wasn't really helping my pain all that much anyway. I'm on another board for Fibromyalgia too and the results are mixed. It helps some while others do not notice that much of a difference in pain. Luckily, FMS sufferers have a couple of new medications that are supposed to be out on the market in the next year. I hope they can find something to help you soon!! --- °²Á¢Ýæ <lixuan68@...> wrote: > Hi all, > > i was put on Lyrica for a week and it literally > turned me into a > psycho. i just spoke to my doctor and he said to > stop. but now what do > i do? i'm so desperate for pain relief. > > thanks for your advise! > > lixuan > > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Lyrica is for fibromyalgia, not RA. You need to address the inflammation in order to reduce the pain. Starting on Prednisone and Ibuprofen as well as MTX if you have RA. Go to www.arthritisfoundation.org for more information on what might work for you as well as real time advice from a Chapter office. Guest guest
Even though Lyrica is not for RA I take it for the fybromialgia and works perfect, it takes my muscle and bone pain away completely this allowing me to stop taking oxycodone. If it drives your mood crazy then you should not take. Another option would be Neurontin, it controls the same symptoms and hopefully does not drive you nuts. > > > Hi all, > > > > i was put on Lyrica for a week and it literally turned me into a > > psycho. i just spoke to my doctor and he said to stop. but now what do > > i do? i'm so desperate for pain relief. > > > > thanks for your advise! > > > > lixuan > > > > > > >

Guest guest
I have fibromyalgia and RA beforeI became a diabetic, I got was put on neurontin 5 800 mg per day for neuropathy which was caused by the autoimmune RA. I was taking neurontin a to high dose. I started loosing my memory amd once I lost where I was and couldnt control where I drove my car. I was fulled over by a policeman and was sent to the hospital. I was taking too much at a dose. I was taken off neurontin and put on lyrica low dose. If I excede the amount, this will happen again, my doctor told me they a primarially the same. I took them for 5 weeks and had to go on antibiotics and could not my enbrel shots, Itakes several weeks for the enbrel to restart over again, If you use either neurontin or lyricia they both mess with with your mind. Guest guest
You post about cell phone numbers and that people can call you to solicit is wrong. That is an Urban legend that has been going around for a long time. I verified this info with www.snopes.com I suggest that you verify with snopes or one of the other sites that handles chain e-mails and scam e-mails before sending this kind of info out. Its amazing that this one has been circulating in different forms now since 2003. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp I can read in your posts the cognitive problems you are having with the meds. Thank you for posting this info. I was going to ask my doc about lyrica. After reading your post there is no way I will take it or any drug in the same family. I must be functional and not some blithering idiot that can not even drive. I work a full time job and I am getting ready to go back to college full time. LOL My family would absolutely freak out. You were very lucky that the police officer did not have you arrested for driving under the influence. DUI or DWI...whatever they call it in your state. Because they can do that if you are on prescription drugs and not in control of your vehicle. I am a former paramedic and I have been called by local police of state troopers to pick up a driver that is DUI and not from the illegal drugs or alcohol....but from prescription drugs. Sad to say the outcome in court is the same....guilty....so becareful when you get behind the wheel. Good luck Toni Re: Any information on Lyrica? Guest guest
I beg your pardon, the cell number I gave is the number I called last night before I wrote the post. It plainly tells you to call from the phone you want to have deleted. It takes 30 days before your number is protected. After that it is 5 years. Try the number you will find out for your self. Phone#888-382-1222 I also have a lung problem and my oxygen level had dropped to a dangerous level. I think that is the reason I didn't get arrested. Thanks Jo Nellaclavern33@... wrote: You post about cell phone numbers and that people can call you to solicit is wrong. That is an Urban legend that has been going around for a long time.
