Guest guest
Hi all! I'm 41 and can no longer take Humira due to the frequent infections I get on it. I can't tolerate MTX, or any others due CYP 450. Don't know if anyone knows about that stuff, but I have been using Aleve, darvocet, and finally after 6 years of asking got my first script for vicodin. I also have fibro, sjorgrens, raynaud's, hashimoto's, etc bla bla bla In other words a train wreck as I like to say Does anyone SUCESSFULLY use natural remedies for pain relief, or symptom relief of any of the conditions I mentioned? Any 40's mom or dad's out their? Gentle hugs to all of you, especially the original creater of this group.
Guest guest
I’m sorry you are having so much trouble. I’m not aware of any successes from natural remedies in general but some people find that food sensitivities are part of their problem and by using an elimination diet to find these sensitivities they get some relief. This doesn’t work for everyone but it is worth a try. It takes a lot of patience and self-discipline so I haven’t tried it because I’m pretty well controlled with other things. Here’s one link that you may find helpful. http://www.drcranton.com/elimination_diet.htm Another thing to consider is antibiotic therapy. Minocycline is approved by the American College of Rheumatology as a DMARD (Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug) but is not often suggested by rheumatologists because there haven’t been a lot of clinical trials on it. Good clinical trials are very expensive and usually they are funded only by drug companies hoping to get a monopoly position on an expensive medication to pay for the trials. Minocycline does not have a patent position and is a relatively cheap medicine so drug companies have no incentive to conduct trials. All of the clinical trials I have seen show good results with antibiotics like Minocycline. The link below is to an advocacy group that has a lot of personal stories and other information about using antibiotics for RA. Antibiotic Therapy - Road Back Foundation http://www.roadback.org I hope you find some acceptable way to get your ailments under control. God bless.
