Hello,I am on both meds mtx/enbrel, I have been having more bad days than good. Rain, humidity and heat. Anyone have any suggestions as far as vitamins and herb go? I'm also on Cymbalta for pain, pain meds, muscle relaxers, indocin for gout. I do have a rheumy and a PCP who work well together but I'm not feeling as well as I should. I have 4 kids and am 39 years old. I don't want to miss out on anything else. I just want to enjoy life! ;-)Any help is appreciated!a in IndianaLove~Light~PeaceFrom: helen flatau <hlflatau@...>Sender: Rheumatoid Arthritis Date: Mon, 12 Jul 2010 08:52:21 -0700 (PDT)<Rheumatoid Arthritis >Reply Rheumatoid Arthritis Subject: MTX WOW, you must be tough! I started with those almost immediately when I started MTX. But there is help. Folic Acid, which is cheap, has few side effects, and is easy to take. Ask your rheumy, but mine has me go as high as a gram twice a day. Taking it like candy, my mouth sores are almost a thing of the past!Prairiegrandma

I have had problems with mouth sores even before I started MTX, so it was of

course a problem for me as soon as I started taking the MTX, even with the

Folic Acid. However, since I have added yogurt (with the active cultures) to my

diet on an almost daily basis my mouth sores are a thing of the past. I use it

in dressings, smoothies, cereal, ... (even eating it straight :) and it has

made a wonderful difference.
