Guest guest
Arlene.... That is certainly a good question!!!! I certainly don't have the answer, but I suspect that at least 50% of those asked would say NO......it is NOT liver friendly. *S* On the other hand I am taking so many things that are not liver friendly that are prescribed by docs, that I never even thought about it!!!!! Seriously, if that is a concern for you, it would be worthwhile checking it out.... And I know that at times it does not work for me... Guest guest
Even thogh has pauciarticular jra she has a rash on the outer aspect of her left thigh and her arthritic knee is the left one. The rash comes and goes. Her arthritis is asymptomatic right now but the rash is back. The rheumy doesn't think it's related to the jra but it's odd that other children in the group have a rash too! What are the chances of it being related? I think it is. Teri
Guest guest
my daughter has poly jra, but has had exzema since birth and was just recently dxed with Psoriatc Arthritis afrter years of treating her for excema. What is she given orally for the itching and what kind of cream used on her skin? Have you taken her to a dermatologist? My daughter has never been able to wear new clothing without it being washed first. Have you tried cetaphil soap to bathe her in? As weird as this may sound her dr had me bathing her in baking soda water and it worked for awhile then stopped. We now use dial, dove and cetaphil soap. We use one for awhile then switch up. Just before going to the rheumy I went back to the baking soda and water because I thought her exzema was in a flare because of the way she broke out in patches all over her body. Her reg. ped thought she had impetigo, but didn't then they thought it was from the mtx she was taking took her to the rheumy and it's Psoriatc Arthritis and she still have JRA too. Sorry for the venting. Ywellen

Guest guest
I still say try the coal tar products. They cleared me up very quickly. ~ itchiness n has systemic JRA and has itched for over a year now. We have tried absolutely everything. Then in August she developed exzema, which is now pretty much all over her body. We have steroid cream for it, and that helps it to heal alittle bit, but doesn't stop it. cindy _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com eGroups Sponsor For links to websites with JRA info please visit: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Village/8414/Links.html To manage your subscription settings, visit: subscribe/
Guest guest
Hi : I have a friend here who's elder daughter has polyarticular jra (My daughter has systemic), and who's younger daughter has/had terrible exzema. Turned out the younger daughter had a lot of food allergy/sensitivities, and by avoiding those foods, her exzema eventually cleared up. I wonder if maybe n has food allergies that maybe have nothing to do with her arthritis? Mickey (with systemic) sometimes has dry skin/rashes, but nothing that bothers her by itching too much. It's just a thought... maybe the exzema is not directly related to the arthritis? Lynn itchiness n has systemic JRA and has itched for over a year now. We have tried absolutely everything. Guest guest
Hello Olana, That's great you found a combination of things that work. That's very smart that you and your mom were able to work it all out. I will try all your suggestions (the aloe and epsom salt paste sounds like an especially good idea). Thank you very much. Guest guest
le, dry flaky skin may be an essential fatty acids deficiency, which is the probable reason a doctor would suggest oil. DHA/EPA oil would be more useful; Olive oil does not convert readily to the essential fats DHA and EPA, and a probable excess of omega-6 exists to hinder that conversion. Drinking water with baking soda in it neutralizes stomach acid, reducing digestive processes and promoting bowel dysbiosis. I would not suppress stomach acidity for those reasons. Glad to help all good, Duncan > > Hi I have mayor itchiness and vaginal issues too because of candida. For body itchness my dr told me to drink extra virgin olive oil. Guest guest
I drink it as much as possible. I know it sounds disgusting but its a solution to not feeling worse. I even bought a olive oil soap bar and have felt the difference in the itching ..I have a article which was given by my USA dr in miami which states olive oil is the new antiflammatory medicine... Guest guest
Hello,I take Enbrel and I get a rash instantly from my weekly injection. I have started to take Benedryl and hour before I take it then every 4 hours until it goes away. It usually lasts a couple days. Does the Orencia work for you? I am needing to switch, the Enbrel is not making any difference with me, except the rash, lol:)Hope that helps. a in IndianaLove~Light~PeaceFrom: " Beyke" <karenbeyke@...>Sender: Rheumatoid Arthritis Date: Thu, 29 Jul 2010 03:32:48 -0500<Rheumatoid Arthritis >Reply Rheumatoid Arthritis Subject: Itchiness Hi, gang! Guest guest
you might ask the dr if you can take benadryl before you do the Orencia treatment, it might help alleviate the itchy reaction. And possible take a dose for a couple days after, also. Dianna ----- Original Message -----From: " Beyke" Rheumatoid Arthritis Subject: ItchinessDate: Thu, 29 Jul 2010 03:32:48 -0500 Hi, gang! Guest guest
I’m on Remicade and have never had that problem. However, I am given Benadryl along with my infusion and that may forestall this kind of reaction. I hope you find a way to overcome this. God bless. Guest guest
Benadryl or claritin before treatment may help or after. Topical Benadryl gel or a cortisone cream.
