Dear AllI have been on MTX for 2 years now but seem to have developed, perhaps, ulcers which makes swallowing food difficult and painful as well as burping. I had a hacking cough for several months. Has anyone had the same symptoms as these, possibly due to MTX?Please share with me if you have.Thank you.Ken.

Are you on oral MTX? I went to the injectible and had far less GI problems.

I don’t know where these messages have been but they just

appeared to me on 8/2/2010.

Nausea is a fairly common side effect of Methotrexate so usually

Folic Acid is prescribed along with it.  I take 10 mg Methotrexate weekly along

with  1 mg of Folic Acid daily.  Folic Acid usually comes in 300 mcg or 600 mcg

pills OTC or 1 mg (1,000 mcg) pills by prescription.  If you are seeing a

rheumatologist I am surprised you have not been told about this.  I hope you

get effective treatment.  God bless.
