Guest guest
Imus calls Rick a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Hey, maybe in some ironic way, he's just trying to protect himself. Texas governor orders STD vaccine for all girls It's all about $$$. This comes from MSNBC, which you guessed it, isowned by GE. You can credit VP Bob for busting Merck on this one.LennyTexas governor orders STD vaccine for all girlsDecision comes after maker of cervical cancer shot doubled lobbyingeffortshttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16948093/wid/11915773?GT1=9033http://tinyurl.com/yrkec6AUSTIN, Texas - Bypassing the Legislature altogether, Republican Gov.Rick issued an order Friday making Texas the first state torequire that schoolgirls get vaccinated against the sexuallytransmitted virus that causes cervical cancer.By employing an executive order, sidestepped opposition in theLegislature from conservatives and parents' rights groups who fearsuch a requirement would condone premarital sex and interfere with theway Texans raise their children.Beginning in September 2008, girls entering the sixth grade — meaning, generally, girls ages 11 and 12 — will have to receive Gardasil, Merck & Co.'s new vaccine against strains of the human papillomavirus, or HPV. also directed state health authorities to make the vaccineavailable free to girls 9 to 18 who are uninsured or whose insurancedoes not cover vaccines. In addition, he ordered that Medicaid offerGardasil to women ages 19 to 21., a conservative Christian who opposes abortion and stem-cellresearch using embryonic cells, counts on the religious right for hispolitical base. But he has said the cervical cancer vaccine is nodifferent from the one that protects children against polio."The HPV vaccine provides us with an incredible opportunity toeffectively target and prevent cervical cancer," said.Merck is bankrolling efforts to pass state laws across the countrymandating Gardasil for girls as young as 11 or 12. It doubled itslobbying budget in Texas and has funneled money through Women inGovernment, an advocacy group made up of female state legislatorsaround the country. tied to Merck has ties to Merck and Women in Government. Guest guest
I am a Texan and I think we should call Texas the Vaccine Mandate State instead of the Lone Star State. Texas has always been the most vaccine mandated state there is. Usually in less than two years when any vaccine is recommended Texas makes it mandatory just like this STD vaccine. We are also leading the way for the state that has nothing but toll roads. They are in the process of making all our highways and freeways tolls even those which have been payed for many years. To top it off Rick has given the big Corridor contract to a company from Spain. However Texas goes, so goes the rest of the country, because the Super Highway begins here and ends in Canada. C.
