Guest guest
I have sjogrens syndrome, and my eyes were really dry and scratchy. When I went to the opthamologist, she told me that in addition to the sjogrens, the oil ducts in my eyes were clogged. She had me use a hot moist cloth on my eyes every night for a week, and it made a BIG difference. I still don't produce enough tears, but the oil glands are open now, and my eyes are a lot more comfortable. Every time I shower, I hold a hot wet cloth on my eyes for 5 minutes or so to keep them from clogging again. Thought those of you with this problem might try it to see if it helps. Guest guest
I would think getting OIL in your eyes would hurt. I think you meant that your tear ducts were closed or blocked. I know when my children were babies they had problems with blocked tear ducts and that using warm compresses a few times a day was the solution. Toni Nothing says I love you like flowers! Guest guest
http://www.dryeyeinfo.org/Dry_Eye_FAQ.htm This link has quite a bit of information about oil glands in the eyes. That’s considerably different from motor oil, and also different from tear ducts. It is an old link (2006) but I had never heard of it before. Likewise if tear ducts are blocked that helps to increase the moisture in the eyes because tear ducts remove tears from the eyes rather than lubricating the eyes. One treatment for Sjogrens is to put plugs in the tear drops to conserve tears. God bless. Harold From: Rheumatoid Arthritis [mailto:Rheumatoid Arthritis ] On Behalf Of aclavern33@...
