Guest guest
I have taken Remicade since 2000 with very good results even now. Be sure you are infused slowly and drink lots of water/gatorade since its given in IV form via sodium solution. Any specific questions about it? Please ask. Guest guest
Well, I don’t think I’d say it was really running but it is as least limping along. I don’t know where everyone went. I’ve never taken Rituximab but I do pretty well on Methotrexate and Remicade. God bless. Guest guest
I'm still around too. Having a terrible flare at the moment though which started in December. Now I'm having to have an ankle replacement in March because the ankle is crumbling. I'm using the wheelchair pretty much full time at the moment, and I haven't had to do that before. Pretty discouraging. I've been on Enbrel for many years (can't take Methotrexate and Remicade didn't work for me) but I'm wondering if it's not working for me any more since I have a number of new joints affected. Saw the rheumy in December but he didn't want to change anything then. I'll pursue it further with him if this keeps up. Thanks for any support you can give. Guest guest
By the way, Rituximab is RITUXAN not Remicade. I tried Rituxan and had a severe reaction. Rituxan is not a fully human molecule, it is chimeric and partially made of mouse protein. Many people have taken it and done just fine. I was one of the unusual ones in that I can't take it. My NP at my rheumatologists office had the initial 2 doses and she has been in remission ever since...2 years later. Most people get a dose every 6 months. There is a new version of Rituxan in the works that is fully human. Hasn't been approved yet. Since I 'flunked' Rituxan I'm currently on Orencia. Rituxan was my first choice since it is only given every 6 months. With Orencia I have to go every month. With me, the Orencia does not give me a full month of relief, unfortunately. I'm hoping to try Actemra when it gets approved. Good luck with whatever you decide. Guest guest
I had a terrible reaction to Rituxan during my first infusion. They had premedicated me with solumedrol, benadryl and zantac, yet still I had hives, and difficulty breathing. I was obviously allergic to it. Those I know that are not allergic and able to take it, have had wonderful results. May you be one of the lucky ones!----- Original Message -----From: ine G <mistybears@...>Date: Friday, January 14, 2011 12:10Subject: RituximabRheumatoid Arthritis > Hi Im ine from the UK , and I was wondering if any of you > have had a Rituximab Infusion, and if the results were good or > not ...
