Information and support is the major function of any group.  Everyone lends their own perspective, though some with fear and pain induced aggressive posts.  I have been there.  When you are in a place no one can go and everyone around you hasnt a clue what its like, you have to expect sour with the sweet.  Yours, Deborah

(about 2 years ago to be exact) but attitude has a major effect on RA. When you let things wear on your mind, your body will respond by attacking itself.  No one has ever said that having RA is easy.  If it was none of us would be here, probably.  The only reason I joined the group was to ask for help with a medication change and here I am 2 years later.  I don't respond very often because I am not a big fan of people attacking each other, which seems to go in cycles in this group.   (I should know I have been attacked on and off the group thread)  I read all the posts though, in hopes that I can learn something new and that might help me.  When I read something, I either do my own research or talk it over with my rheumy.  I know all to well that all of us are different in more ways than we can imagine.

I am unable to take the more common pain meds so I have learned to do without them.  I have learned to put up with the pain (which isn't in any way fun or easy) but I would rather be in pain than to be hanging over the toilet or scratching continually with hives.  Or my favorite side effect: insomnia!  That one is the greatest.  I love taking a pill that is supposed to relax me only to be bouncing off the walls within 45 minutes.  (I hope and pray I am a rare example though).

Please all of us try to get along.  We all have the same disorder, but to different extents and none of us can do anymore than offer a shoulder to lean on and our experiences.  Whether or not you chose to accept that shoulder or to ignore it is up to you.   But insulting each other gets us no where and ranting only makes it harder.
