Guest guest
I am in sweater or jacket all year round. I have to keep house colder than I would like so a/c will take humidity out of house. I will probably get separate dehumidifier, whole house, because I don't like to be refrigerated. I enjoy the summer heat up to about 85 is okay with me. Its the humidity that is a problem both for me and for house. When you are very cold and can't warm up, get in a very warm/hot bath and soak. It will stay with you for a very long time. It actually will make your heart beat a little faster too, or at least it does me. --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > Anyone ever feel as if they can';t get warm. > of course in dallas, you must stay in ac 24/7 > but I am hyper cold. >

Plastic bags are great to control cross contamination, but they don't stop mycotoxins, so the bag should be someplace far away, at least in another room. I do this whenever I feel even the slightest hit or have gone anywhere that I've been slammed in the past. It is absolutely terrific to be able to sleep well - without all those nasy neuro-nightmares. After a few months of acting like a total nutcase, my " Raynauds- like " finger numbness went away. I couldn't believe that after years of freezing cold fingers that would numb up at a cool breeze, I could go outside and make snowballs without fear. I celebrated by throwing snowballs at Dr s Hummer. Awesome it is! to find something against all odds and in contradiction to what everybody says - that really makes a difference! Unbelievable that the very people who you'd think would be the most interested turned out to be the most disinterested. -
Guest guest
When I have been out in pollen, mold and etc, I just remove my clothing in the laundry room and throw them in the washer right then. One can keep a clean bath robe in the laundry room if needed. I then take a good shower. There is no way I would leave my offending clothing in a laundry basket or put in a bag to deal with later...only way I would do this is if I had no access to a washer and dryer. I find it healthier on me to clean them right away, IMO. I too always feel cold. Feeling cold tends to make me feel worse. > > Anyone ever feel as if they can';t get warm. of course in dallas, > you must stay in ac 24/7 but I am hyper cold. > > > > Decontamination Message List > > Reply | Forward | Delete Message #28720 of 41587 < Prev | Next > > > Re: Decontamination > > I should go to the shower carrying the new clothes and bag my > present clothes which were contaminated by driving in the car all > day, take a shower and put on new clothes, leaving the contaminated > clothes in a new plastic bag?? Guest guest
Is it possible that you have a Vitamin A deficiency? Itchy skin and bumps are both symptoms of a deficiency. Kenda VITAMIN A FUNCTION Protects the body against polluted air and is important for healthy eyesight and mucous membranes; . Is needed during pregnancy and lactation. . Builds resistance to infections and disease; and . Is particularly important for healthy epithelial tissue (the skin) and high doses of synthetic vitamin A are prescribed for acne. Studies have shown that high blood levels of vitamin A are linked to lower rates of cancer, particularly of epithelial tissue. This may be due to its role in maintaining healthy epithelial tissue, supporting the immune system, and increasing response to abnormal cells. Some research supports vitamin A's role in reducing the rates of lung cancer and leukemia. " Absorption and Storage ABSORPTION It is well absorbed, with between 80-90% of dietary vitamin A being absorbed. Some fat is needed in the diet to absorb this vitamin, so those on fat-free or low fat diets can be deficient. Mineral oil, inorganic iron, cortisone, coffee, fluorescent lighting, and x-rays inhibit vitamin A absorption. Alcohol irritates the gastro-intestinal tract, inhibits vitamin A absorption, and depletes the body's tissue stores. STORAGE Vitamin A is stored in the body, mainly in the liver, but stress will deplete any surplus. High temperatures injure vitamin A. Mineral oil laxatives reduce vitamin A levels, as do antacids, Colchicine " , Cholestyramine/o and broad-spectrum antibiotics. Vitamin A is one of the most prevalent deficiencies. The WHO estimates that 250 million children worldwide have vitamin A deficiencies. Although deficiencies are less common in developed countries, they do occur in cases of alcoholism, people with reduced liver function, or people with reduced absorption. Deficiency Symptoms Deficiency symptoms may include a poor sense of taste and smell, acne, rough or dry skin (particularly on upper arms where hardened bumps of keratin form around hair follicles), poor digestion, diarrhea, ear infections, kidney and gallbladder problems, lack of stamina, defective teeth and gums, peeling or ridged nails, increased susceptibility to infection, eye infections, poor vision, dry eye, and eye strain. Poor night vision is one of the first symptoms of a deficiency due to lack of visual purple. Population studies have shown higher rates of cancer correlated with low vitamin A levels. A deficiency can also lead to thyroid problems. " Prolonged dry eyes can lead to corneal ulee " . Unfortunately, the new DRI give the amounts for vitamin A in micrograms ( " g), not IU's. 1- " g of vitamin A equals about 3.3 IU. Pregnant women: The new DRI is 770 " g, to a maximum 3,000 " g per day of vitamin A. This would mean about 2,500IU a day DRI, to a maximum of 9,9OOIU per day of vitamin A, which would translate to 30,000 IU a day to a maximum of 119,000 IU per day of beta-carotene. The National Academies press release stated " : Vitamin A. Besides being important for normal vision, vitamin A plays a vital role in gene expression, reproduction, embryonic development, growth, and immune function. To ensure adequate stores of vitamin A in the body, men should consume 900 micrograms daily and women should consume 700 micrograms daily. The UL was set at 3-milligrams, or 3,000 micrograms, per day. Recent research shows that excess vitamin A intake may increase the risk of physical birth defects, liver abnormalities in adults, and bulging of the skull where bone has not yet formed in infants and young children. -¡© The most obvious symptom of inadequate vitamin A consumption is vision impairment, especially night blindness, which occurs after the body's vitamin A stores have been depleted. Up to 500,000 children worldwide go blind each year because of vitamin A deficiency. Night blindness induced by vitamin A deficiency is rarely observed in the United States and Canada, and determining from survey data whether people in these two countries get enough vitamin A is more difficult. For example, estimates of intake from national surveys of food and nutrient consumption indicate that between 25 percent and 50 percent of young adults in the United States may not get enough of the nutrient in their diets to assure adequate vitamin A stores. However, these figures should be interpreted with caution since the surveys only measure consumption over one or two days, when in fact it takes several weeks of data collection to accurately assess intake of this vitamin. Therapeutic Dose up to 50,000 IU of beta-carotene a day for no more than one month, then reduce to 25,000 ill. Supplement Cautions A regular dose should not exceed 25, 000 ill (adults)/IO,Ooo (children). Pregnant women should not take more than 15,000 lU per day. A study in 1996 from Boston University School of Medicine showed that women consuming more than 15,000 ill daily were three times as likely, to have a baby with a birth defect than women who consumed 5,000 lU or less. 'However, a 1997 study by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development' " found that women taking doses up to 25,000 ill had no increased level of birth defects. In another study, fetal abnormalities were noted in pregnant women taking 10,000 ill of vitamin A daily, but not for those taking beta-carotene.' " Some of the confusion is because beta-carotene, which is water soluble, is often used as a source of vitamin A, which is fat-soluble. Our body converts beta-carotene to vitamin A. But unlike beta-carotene, the liver stores vitamin A. If high amounts of actual vitamin A are taken over long periods, the liver can become overloaded. Therefore, beta-carotene is a safer choice. Beta-carotene can be taken at 6 - 12 times the amount of vitamin A. Take vitamin E with vitamin A to improve its action and prevent side effects. An excess of vitamin A can be toxic, causing symptoms of thinning hair, sore lips, bruising, nose bleeds, headaches, blurred vision, flaky itchy skin, painful joints and bones. These symptoms would only appear after a massive dose had been taken for a long time. Taking a 1O000mg of vitamin C daily can prevent them, but even if C and E are not taken, the symptoms will disappear in a few days when the supplement is stopped > I have little bumps coming up on my arms as well. Guest guest
Kenda, Last summer I had a problem with Vitamin A toxicity, and I was taking 10,000 IU a day. On top of implant illness, I got extremely sick from this, so I'm really cautious about vitamin A since it's fat soluable. I couldn't get out of bed, and my brain fog was magnified, I was shaking, I couldn't eat, and then I noticed when I didn't take the Vitamin A one night, the throbbing in my temples improved. I did buy a bottle of Norwegian Cod Liver Oil recently, but haven't taken any of it yet. Before the Vitamin A became toxic (during the first few weeks I was taking it, I noticed my anxiety improved, and I felt better - but as it built up in my fat cells I started getting really sick). I read that with foods like carrots, you don't have to worry about toxicity because your body acts differently with foods than with vitamins, and with food your body uses what it needs and expels the rest - but with vitamins it can build up. I know you've got alot of training in this area - I read that Cod Liver Oil can build up and become toxic if you take too much as well - but I don't know how true that is. Do you know? Guest guest
You're right, Sis, too much vitamin A is toxic to the body. You need to be careful with all fat soluble vitamins and not supplement unless you have a known deficiency. Beta Carotene converts to Vitamin A and is considered more safe. So getting vitamin A through food is best. Kenda > Kenda, > > Last summer I had a problem with Vitamin A toxicity, and I was > taking 10,000 IU a day. Guest guest
I had a lot of itching and rashes with implants and after explant-- my skin is sensitive to many things, which it wasn't without implants. I have to be careful what I put on it or it will break out in hives, especially my arms!
