Guest guest
Mine took 6 months to really be effective. If you felt great after the first one, that’s super news!!! I did my IV iron infusion and got my iron levels back close to normal so the hematologist released me after one infusion. YAY! :-) I had my first Orencia treatment last Friday. Thirty minutes in and out and I felt wonderful. I couldn't believe how good I felt. Unfortunately the good feeling only lasted 12 hours and then I was back to my old, achy, paining self that I know and love. So, I will have two more infusions 2 weeks apart and start the once a month kickoff. Did anyone else's blood pressure drop after the infusion? Right after the infusion I was 99/64 and that may be because----I wasn't hurting. I've heard on the average it takes 3 - 6 infusions before Orencia really kicks in, has this been the case with everyone else? Thanks, K
Guest guest
So the Orencia has worked for you so far? There are so many I think you really have to find the right one for your body. Do you lose your hair when on the infusion? I have been on Enbrel 1x weekly and MTX 1x weekly. My hair is falling out like crazy! It grows back but Enbrel is not helping at all, MTX seems to do a bit for me though. Good luck with your infusions:) Keep us posted on how it works on you! aLove~Light~PeaceFrom: " Beyke" <karenbeyke@...>Sender: Rheumatoid Arthritis Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2010 17:09:09 -0500<Rheumatoid Arthritis >Reply Rheumatoid Arthritis Subject: RE: 1st Orencia Treatment (happy/sad) Mine took 6months to really be effective. Guest guest
Yes, the Orencia/MTX combo seems to be the best so far. I can walk now (had problems before that). I didn’t experience the hair loss that some do, but it’s definitely thinned. (I don’t wash it every day like I used to and I don’t style it with heat. Instead, I keep it longer and pull it back lightly now, though some say you should cut it short. It seems that with all of these side effects, you just have to take the time to see what works best.) I take 1 mg folic acid 3 times a day (helps with anemia and with tolerating the meds). Good luck, a. The name of the game is patience and moving around so you don’t stiffen up. Guest guest
I've now had 3 infusions and still can't say one way or another if it's " working " per say. I haven't had any major flares since starting which is good but I have my same old aches / swelling. My feet still hurt in the morning and am a little stiff and slow to get going but I'm really hopefully that with a few more infusions I'll get a full effect and some more relief. Humira worked like a dream for me, but was sick all the time on it, was hoping this would work as good without that. Only time will tell. So far so good though. --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " a " <bluecat012001@...> wrote: > > So the Orencia has worked for you so far?
