Debbie,

My PT is going to probably let me take home a traction unit.

I hope that traction is going help me although thus far I only feel stiffer

and in more pain afterward.

" Even put the request through to get a Saunders Home Trac Cervical Traction

unit - they run about $600. "

He could see where it would help us, since he could only pull about 20 pounds of

pressure on my daughter's neck. She needed more than that, and for a longer

period of time than the human body can provide.

Re: Ever heard of this you guys?

Debbie,You did? you ran it past the pt? ok, thats what i thought too.

its funny everyone knew what i was talking about. usually a Pt and a

chiro will tell the truth. cindy

few others. Wouldn't waste my money on it; it is not " customized " to

your body shape. Might cause more harm than good.

Hi Annie,

If traction makes your neck worse, I don't see why

your PT thinks you should continue with it. Traction

is supposed to make your neck feel better -- relax

tense muscles, not tighten them. I would get a second

opinion. I was not able to do PT on my neck this time

without a course of prednisone followed by Celebrex.

And because I was not able to tolerate traction

previously, I did not allow it this time (although in

one previous PT treatment, the traction gave good

results) It sounds like your neck is so irritated

that you need the epidural to calm inflamation down

and then return to the PT.

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the

routine that your physical therapist follows for you?

Rochelle
