Sent: Fri Apr 16th, 2010 7:44 PM CDT Subject: More news about Jyekundo/Yushu - Earthquake Please forgive the format. I am using my phone. I just got this as did many others at my dharma center. They went there on a trip once. This came to me vie the email co-ordinator at my center. My Lama has family unaccounted for there. The name " Tacho " is his wife. Please pray for all people and animals displaced, injured, or killed in this incident. Thank you. Lama la met with me on the schedule this morning, and said Tacho had been able to get through to Kamtsum again. Updates: 80 - 90 percent of all buildings destroyed overall. Thrangu Monastery is completely destroyed, but only 20-30 monks died. It was relatively fortunate. Do you remember on the day we visited Thrangu Gompa we also went to Tenga Rinpoche's Monastery, Penchen? That monastery was also destroyed, but horribly, almost everyone there died. Over a hundred monks and Lamas. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche's sister is one of the dead. There will be a lot more. There is a new onus to money raising for the garage sale; Kailash is going to be full of people who have lost their families. (As many of you know, Tibetans do Kora or undertake pilgrimage when relatives die) It is going to be a tremendous opportunity for Lama la to benefit the survivors.
