http://snipurl.com/7hnzs  [www_truthaboutpetfood_com] Melamine found in candy sold in Walgreens.By  Thixton Published Today Pet Food News UnratedSUSAN THIXTONView all articles by ThixtonJust released by the FDA, a recall notice; ‘Walgreens Recalls 173 Teddy Bears with Chocolate Bars sold since Late September 2008.’ Analysis by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found that certain samples of the chocolate provided with the teddy bears were contaminated with melamine. http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecalls/walgreens12_08.html Consumers have been told by the FDA that melamine is not in U.S. foods. Then it was found in some Chinese candy. Next, it was discovered in coffee mixers, then U.S. infant formula, and now candy. Walgreens reports only 173 of the tainted candy bars were sold, the remaining products will be pulled from store shelves. However, more than likely those 173 candy bars have already been consumed by unknowing children or adults. The damage (kidney damage) has more than likely, already been done. No warning was added to the candy; no notice that ingredients within the chocolate bar originated in China. The candy bar was sold with a cute stuffed Teddy Bear, yet tainted with a dangerous chemical. Buckle your seat belts, I have a suspicion this is only the beginning. Trying to avoid a melamine laced pet food is much easier than a melamine laced ‘people food’. With pet foods, call the manufacturer and ask if any ingredient originates in China, pet treats too (or subscribe to Petsumer Report). With people foods, it’s close to an impossible task. There are hundreds of different items of food you provide to your family each week, not counting a fast food meal thrown in now and then. The time it would take to discover country of origin information of each product would be overwhelming; yet it’s vitally important. It is simply ridiculous that every people food manufacturer is not required to provide this information. Every item in the grocery, each manufacturer of those foods or food ingredients already has this vital information. They could simply provide it to consumers on their websites. Until we get the information we deserve to know, the best that can be done to protect our pets and our people family is preventative supplements. Please…take a fish oil supplement daily (I take double the recommended dose) – and make sure the fish oil is a pharmaceutical grade which means it is pure. Fish oil has tremendous health benefits, read the book Omega Rx Zone by Dr. Barry Sears. And drink electrolyzed water (or ionized water), this water is reported to flush toxins from the body. More information on electrolyzed water: http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/2/1/Is-Mars-Pet-Care-Not-Washing-Their-Hands/Page1.html. These two things will NOT prevent you or your pet from kidney damage due to consuming a melamine contaminated food(s). But, for me personally, I’m hoping they will at least flush things through quickly, hopeful to prevent damage and the fish oil will help to repair things when unknowing amounts of melamine is consumed. My pets also take a fish oil supplement daily and drink electrolyzed water only. Be careful out there!  Thixton Truth about Pet Food Petsumer Report www.TruthaboutPetFood.com  =====In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C.
