The Beckoning Future: How Hepatitis C Drugs in Development May Affect Practice

Today and Tomorrow

Dear colleague,

Please join Nezam H. Afdhal, MD, FRCPI; Lawitz, MD; J. Muir, MD,

MHS, and me

at this live satellite symposium

where we will help providers make informed decisions for today's patients by

examining what the future may hold for hepatitis C management, including:

Prospects and time frame for developing more effective, better tolerated, and/or

more convenient regimens

Need for improved options for patients with non-genotype 1 HCV as well as for

the hardest-to-treat subsets of genotype 1 patients

Challenge of maximizing response rates and avoiding resistance both with today's

regimens and in the future

Clinical dilemmas regarding the risks and benefits of treating patients today vs

awaiting future options
