Guest guest
Has anyone had trigger point injections or Facet blocks, or Nerve Block, Nerve deadening procedures that were successful? All attempts on me were not successful at all. The Trigger point as I remember them where he would put in a needle until he found the point that hurt the most, and then give the injection. The whole process was quite painful and gave me NO relief, plus it was expensive and insurance didn't cover a lot of it. It got to the point where If I wanted to try more I had to pay like $900 per treatment with no promise of success. The same Doctor also recommended Botox injections that insurance would not cover because they were considered experimental for pain treatment. Just looking for things that do work. My Shoulder is really starting to drive me crazy Thanks, Dave

Guest guest
I have had numerous trigger point injections but I have to say the botox injections helped the most. They are expensive but my insurance ended up cover it (mostly) but I had to wait for them to approve it first before receiving the injections. > > Has anyone had trigger point injections or Facet blocks, or Nerve > Block, Nerve deadening procedures that were successful? Guest guest
Dave, I think I missed something-what's going on with your shoulder? I was having a lot of problems with my shoulder, my left one-one of my dr.'s thought I had been dropped during my back surgery, no proof, but that was only thing possible-but anyways-I had a lot of pain, couldn't move my neck very well, and my shoulder was kinda frozen. Couldn't even roll down car window, and had no strngth. I had a surgeon do a very paindul nerve test, he didn't know if I had a problem with my rotator cuff, he did an artroscopy and cleaned up a lot of pinched nerves and bone spurs. After PT, my shoulder is as good as new-fortunately it wasn't rotator cuff. This was an orthopedic surgeon I saw. Hope you find some relief soon. Oh, had some whiplash in neck and shoulder area after car accident last year, and pain dr. put me to sleep and gave me major epidural, it hurt afterwards for a couple days, but am still doing well with it-he said it could last for anywhere from a week to years.  Jeannie

The Doctor who recommended Botox gave up his practice because of the hi cost of malpractice insurance here in PA. We have really high pay outs in court cases, so doctors are leaving the state, especially neurologist because of the ultra high rates for malpractice insurance. at the time he told me most patients could not get approved by insurance and had to self pay, about $1000 per injection. I also wanted to look at nerve block or even killing the nerve, but they can't find the offending nerve unfortunately. Dave
