Guest guest
I am sure this scenario has occurred but it is not common and I would not expect that to happen to you should you need to go to the emergency room. You do have the right to decline vaccines and that is the law. I have been to the emergency room a number of times with my 5 kids over the past 23 years and have never been threatened. I simply told them that they were unvaccinated but if need be I would tell them that they are up to date because by my standards they are indeed up to date with ZERO. The best think that you can do is to learn your legal rights and to not back down or be intimidated by them. If they give you any problems ever simply tell them that you have spoken to your lawyer and know that they have no right to force any vaccine on you or your children and should they persist that you will take legal action to protect them. Keep learning all that you can as it will give you the confidence that you need to stand up to the occassional bully! I have read recently that the ER won't release unvaccinated children back to their parents, or if they do, the child protective services will be notified and children can be taken away for neglect. I have heard some people just lie when asked if their child is up to date on their shots - which I guess I would be willing to do to protect the life of my child...but it seems risky. Plus, what if it's an injury that requires a tetinus shot. I know the shot is useless anyway, and potentially harmful. I live in Nevada and we have medical and religious exemptions. I have a form that I use for day care, but I'm not sure if I need something else written up for possible hospital visits. Thanks, AKLooking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Guest guest
I recently had to take one of my sons to the ER for an injury that would require a tetanus. Seems that the booster are given at intervals, my 11yo would have been up for a booster. I lied. The nurse said, " of course his shots are all up to date " . She didn't wait for an answer and I didn't comment. Then the doctor asked that I check and make sure he had had his booster with his primary the following day. Since his injury required surgery I assumed he'd ask if I had checked on it, but he didn't. I was prepared to lie and tell them that he'd had everything updated with his school checkup. I am not comfortable with lying but my chiropractor suggested I do this to prevent " complications " . I have, in the past, told the truth and was met with a LOT of argument and threats, and I fear things may be more difficult now than in the past. I downloaded these: http://www.geocities.com/titus2birthing/VacRefuse.html which I was prepared to use along with the particular article of the law (in Indiana) that gives me the right to refuse (religious, here).
