Four major hospitals in the city - Hahnemann U. Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Jefferson U. Hospital, and Albert Einstein Medical Center - are participating in targeting high-risk populations and will provide free HBV blood tests to anyone who walks in between 10:00 am2:00 pm. This is the first coordinated citywide hospital screening event in Philadelphia! Learn more. Transplant Surgeons Object to New CDC Organ-Screening Guidelines New CDC guidelines recommending that all organ donors be checked for HIV, HBV and HCV with the most sensitive screening method, known as nucleic acid testing, are raising concerns among transplant surgeons, who fear they may limit availability of organs.
