Orcas are known as the Creators and Guardians of the Cosmic Memory, having the ability to convert raw matter into stars, planets, as well as controlling

rainfall on Earth, etc. and are believed to be a powerful lantern of enlightenment, illuminating the pathway for those who desire to step beyond the mundane world of the physical senses, to the magical shores of cosmic understanding.

Orcas are highly intelligent creatures. Orca represents Creativity. Orca medicine people are very creative although they can have a

tendency to keep their creativity hidden or allow their creativity to rule their lives. Orca represents Sensitivity and the ability for Healing through Sound. Orca souls will have a great deal of emotional and psychic sensitivity, they will possess a heightened awareness of the suffering of others, and will immediately sense the pain that may lay hidden or unspoken. They will likewise possess an innate healing ability. This gift will differ in both intensity, from slight to powerful, and in manifestation such as energy healing from distance, laying on of hands, etc. Orca souls will have the ability to heal

through communication. This ability however, is not limited to

speaking alone, but also includes all other forms of communication as in the written word or artistic expressions such as drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument, singing, etc.

Orca teaches us Spiritual Insight and the Power of Breath, how

to Free the soul from the physical body, how to use the vibrational energy of song to heal, how to assist humans in finding their soul's song from their Soul memory, how to See the unseen, and teaches the ability to seal soul fissures and energy leaks. Orca souls experience many lessons in making the best possible out of often very meager or painful experiences. They do not enter into an " easy " existence, to the contrary, their life is often met with numerous challenges, more so than most around them to the point where friends or loved ones may even comment on the number or frequency with which these hardships are encountered.

For those with the Orca totem, pay attention to the way in which the orca appears to you. If it is seen breaching out of the water it is asking you to surface from the depths of your inner reflection

and express yourself outwardly in a grounded and creative way. If it is seen injured or beached it could indicate a need to take care of your health, there may be a physical manifestation in the form of the on-set

of an illness, in particular those affecting the lungs such as

asthma, bronchitis, chest colds or even pneumonia. It indicates that your creativity has been thwarted and an outlet needs to be found for releasing repressed thoughts, emotions, and/or stifled creativity. Orca represents good organization skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others. The orca holds the teachings of fearlessness, beauty, power and balance. It can awaken these same qualities within you.
