Many lightworkers have used astrology as a lens through which to understand themselves and others. As we look ever deeper into chart configurations, a window into the soul opens that has much to teach us about our path and purpose in this lifetime. Looking at certain indicators for soul age, we can gain fresh inisghts into the path of our soul through time and our present location on the map of our own consciousness.

I offer here some methods for depicting older souls through the astrology chart.

In astrology I use several different aspects to determine soul age and then planetary origin. Soul age is simpler to determine as a younger soul’s chart is not as organized. Aspect lines tend to have more aspects and many more lessons. A younger soul tends to have more polarity aspects or oppositions and use trines (120 aspects) in an awkward manner.

Older souls do have polarity aspects but the chart is more organized in terms of placement of planets, conjunctions and the use of the mid heaven and ascendant for emphasis. Older souls also use many of the sacred points in the zodiac such as the equinoxes and solstices, as well as the midpoints in May (Wesak) and 19 degrees Scorpio, which is another cosmic point.Older souls tend to use cusp dates for birth around the 21st and 22nd of a given month.

Younger souls tend to fall in the mid first through 2nd decant of a sign. Older souls will use the classic ‘tent chart’ with a very precise opposition basing numerous aspects surrounding a T-square. Younger souls use many more houses as a requirement for learning but with no concrete configuration. They often have naked ending aspects which lead from one planet to another without any other aspect. They are infamous for alienating Saturn or their Moon from the other aspects. This denotes the need for much attention to their karma and emotions. Trines are often placed randomly in a younger soul’s chart to plug holes in the soul’s dyke.

Older souls will use what I call ‘Void of Course’ planetary positions. This designation is normally for the Moon when it transits from one sign to another and spends two hours at zero degrees through 60 minutes. But when you have one or more planets at a zero-degree setting, this normally designates an older soul who wishes divine intervention for the function of these planets. Older souls are not always the most adept at human survival, having existed so many times outside of capitalistic environments
