Guest guest
> What is MCT? Hi Sharon, MCT = Medium Chain Triglycerides MFA = Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCT are made up of MFA) (butter and coconut oil are very high in MCT and MFA) There are apparently products available which are concentrated MCT. Whether you're talking about concentrated MCT or regular coconut or palm oil, the benefits are very similar. They're easy for people with pancreatic/gall bladder problems to digest, and they are also utilized by the body as an energy source about as readily as carbohydrates are. However, since they are actually a fat, they provide a relatively stable, non-glycemic energy source. Hope that helps!
