(You are very well read in this stuff! Wow!) I am new to but am taking BOTH freeze-dried Bovine adrenals and thyroid. I JUST ordered some VIRGIN, Organic Coconut oil (I have been drinking the milk in smoothies until it gets here) AND I take GLA Supplement from Borage Oil (Flax is bad for hypothyroids as is Soy, Cauciferous veggies, etc) You were right on! It is amazing to me how many similarities exist btwn this group and what I recently discovered for my own health..... However, I have not read NT yet (although I did check out WAP website and I was SO gratefl for it & his research AND the continuaiton of it.....). Needless to say, I am not versed in this group's nutritional language quite yet but I am slowly learning. Thanks & Cheers! >I just discovered this group. I strongly suspect that >I have a thyroid problem and read that VIRGIN coconut >oil is great for the body; hence I am here. > >I will mostly read as I am not as hardcore into eating >all my food raw/uncooked (especially meat....yuck!) >But I guess some of you are more evolved : ).......but >I am making a conscientous effort to increase the raw, >live foods into my diet. The old adage " like cures like " often proves to be valid. You may wish to try getting some thyroid glands to eat [cooked?] if your problem is a deficiency (hypo rather then hyper). You can get same from NorthStar Bison in Wisconsin (northstar.com). Small amounts of the thyroid at first (a bite) to see the reaction is a prudent way to gauge the need. Iodized salt is not good, in my opinion. I prefer to eat some seaweed to get the Iodine I need or a little grain or so of Celtic Sea salt every now and then or foods rich in Iodine (fish, shellfish, kelp, etc.). Balanced Omega-3 and-6 are very helpful to restore imbalances. Grass-fed red meats and fish are good sources - and there are supplemental oils available as well (Borage, Cod Liver, Flax, etc.). I absolutely adore fresh, organic coconut meat and milk for the oil it contains - especially during the Summer. Regards, -=mark=- I am following this one plan to help __________________________________________________
