Guest guest
Hi, What light olive oil do you use? Is it extra virgin? I didn't think one could buy light extra virgin olive oil. Guest guest
I haven't bought any yet, but I think " light " doesn't mean lowfat or anything--I'm not sure how they press it, but it has a milder taste. I've seen it in regular grocery stores. ----- Original Message ----- From: Coyle Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2002 1:17 AM Subject: Re: Mayo Results Hi, What light olive oil do you use? If you want to know what all the different terms used regarding olive oil are, here's decent summary: http://www.foodtv.com/terms/tt-r2/0,4474,4171,00.html Light basically means that it's been extremely filtered. Guest guest
Hi, The exerpt says that light olive oil is as nutritious as olive oil, but is it the same quality as extra virgin olive and does extra virgin olive oil come in light? Thank you, Jafa --- skroyer <scott@...> wrote: > > > I haven't bought any yet, but I think " light " > doesn't mean lowfat > or anything--I'm not sure how they press it, but it > has a milder > taste. No, filtered and flavorless is antithetical to the notion of extra virgin olive oil. Furthermore, I think that the light is actually made from subsequent pressings whereas the extra virgin is from the first pressing.
