Guest guest
Antiphospholipid antibodies: Dear Christie, As you know, I also have lupus and the paradoxical clotting along with the low platelets and increased bleeding time. What it has done is made it necessary for me to have the nurses flush with heparin every day . Since I get headaches from the heparin when they use the 300 unit dose we only use that dose twice a week . Once on tuesday or wedenesday and then again on Friday too . We leave one hundred unit dose in the line and the other times and flush it through the next day. This is working well . Due to the vasculities/ lupus situation I did have initial bursting veins and bleeding into small tissue areas in the first three weeks of IV Rocephin. But, because I am also on 25 mgs. of prednisone these painful areas along with the pain all the way up my leg due to the vasculitis, were pretty easy to manage. I tried to reduce the pred but everything went haywire and since I am having pretty timesly Herxheimer reactions we know the IV and the oral Flagyl are doing a good job. After 4 weeks the vasculitis has calmed down . There is no way I could tolerate this treatment at all without the pred. At this point it is not compromising my immune system enough to hinder the treatment. It can be managed quite easily . Also due to diabetes my blood is very " sticky " so even with all this we manage to keep this catheter moving in both directions with a healthy blood return both days. It just takes a little creativity. Luv, Cheryl Gallbaldder and Rocephin, Although many doctors will pressure patients to have their gall baldders out while on Rocephin Therapy.....even preventively, it isn't always necessary. The typical sludging gall bladder which goes on to form stones is a threat to the pancreas if it gets infected. One good thing is that those on ABX are pretty much covered for infection and since the sludging is from cholesterol buildup there is a drug called Actigall which is highly appropriate for this kind of gall bladder problem . You can also have the common bile duct enlarged a bit through a laparascopic 30 minute procedure and then they " wash out the gall baldder. " Find out what your blood chemistries and urinary bilirubin are and if the levels are not that bad you can help yourself through reducing dietary fat to about 11- 15 grams a day at two different times. Sometimes people need only half that fat. Eat small meals and never let your stomach get empty. Avoid stimulants and acids. An exception....use apple cider vinegar on your vegetables and a half an apple whenever you can or apple juice......if you can tolerate it. A diet of primarily rice , vegetables and fish helps tremendously and it is said that malic acid tablets help as well . When doing liver cleanses......be careful.... when you stimulate your liver more bile is created and can aggravate the stomach and gall bladder. When the week-end rolls around and you are off Rocephin you will notice things calm down by Monday. I have been doing this and it works well. These are not typical septic inflammatory gall bladder problems usually and do not require aggressive surgery. I hemorrhage and my surgeries do not heal for months so I will do anything to avoid surgeryl My doctor endorses me 100 % and I am so thankful. Some, with preexisting silent stones will have much more trouble so an ultrasound is very useful. Many people continue to have problems even after the gall bladder is out so there is more to meet the eye with our gall bladders. In India where pancreatitis, liver disease and gall bladder problems are very prevalent they take patients off oils and all grains except rice. They have done this with success for thousands of years. Hope this helps some, Luv Education and Resources about Lyme disease , lupus and autoimmune conditions (double click below to access) http://www.cmc.net/~jadevoll
Guest guest
Hi a, I did some checking up on reasons why you may not be losing weight while still following a low carb program. From what I've found out here are some reaasons; 1/ hidden sugars in what you are eating. They suggest you write down everything you eat, check labels also. 2/ your body has hit a plateau and you have to do something to get your metabolism burning a little faster. How about walking, stationary bike riding or swimming? Something that won't hurt your joints but will fire up the furnace, so to speak! Don't give up though, a. Three years is a long time and maybe your body just needs a change or boost to get going again. There are different levels in the Atkins diet. Maybe you should go back to the induction part for a week or so. Just a thought. Sus
Guest guest
Thanks, Sus. I have added treadmill walking and exercise. I think I am one who has to stay at the base line level to lose. I will try a week of level 1 and let you know. a > From: " Sus " <msmartin2@...> > > Hi a, > > I did some checking up on reasons why you may not be losing weight while > still following a low carb program. Guest guest
After you drink homzon you drink lemon juice. If you add lemon juice to the homozon the homozon will not be any good. Lemon juice activate the effect of homozon. You want the homozon to be activated in your body that's why you drink lemon juice after you drink homozon. Guest guest
My son's neurologist is one of the neurologists who coined the term " epileptiform aphasia " which I think is a form of LKS. Anyway, when my son was non-verbal I was concerned about LKS and she said that usually a regression in receptive speech accompanies the regression in expressive speech in kids with LKS so that fact that my son had intact receptive skills made it unlikely that he had LKS. All this info is based on what I remember from a year or so ago so it might not be entirely accurate. Guest guest
That is really nice of you Trish. I had a brand new one that I never did use, but needed the money so I sold it on ebay. I remember it did cost a lot to ship and I had both items as well. I write reviews on a website and had them added this item, but I never did write a review. Would be nice to have one posted by April with autism awareness month and help with promoting this item. Here is the listing: http://www.epinions.com/E-Z-On-Vest To give you an idea here is my review on the Britax Husky: http://www.epinions.com/content_95248486020 Bonnie ================ > Hi Everyone, > > I have an EZ ON Vest and car harness for a child of the approximate ages of > 6,7,8. Guest guest
Compaq is OK...an inexpensive 'Chevy' if it doesn't develop problems. But the $749.00 Dell laptop in Sunday's Parade magazine is a little BMW! Why settle, at that price? -- Ed Langham Saginaw, MI edlangham@... Guest guest
My advice is assess your need for a laptop carefully. A very inexpensive desktop unit can give better service than even an expensive laptop. A computer needs to be configured as a " game " machine to give best service and meet the needs of complex software. It needs state of the art sound and vision. Few laptops can do this without expensive additions. You can get a Dell desktop with advcned sound and video cards for much less then a similarly equipped laptop. With a small flat monitor the space is not that much different either. I bought a dell laptop and while I'm not unhappy (except that I have to use Windows) I wish now I had gotten a desktop. the number of times i have needed protability can be counted on one hand. unless you are making house calls, think hard before buying one.
