Guest guest
Bio-identical hormones are made by a compounding pharmacy with a prescription from the patients doctor. They are called bio-identical because they are identical chemically to what is in the body. Estriol is one type of estrogen which increases during pregnancy and shown to possibly be cancer protective. It is made by the human body. Because the pharmaceutical compounds-medroxyprogesterone(Provera and Prempro) and Premarin (horse urne) were shown to increase some types of cancer, many doctors turned to bio-identical hormones.Wyeth(the company who makes Prempro and Premarin has lost billions$$ they have petitioned the FDA to stop the chemical Estriol from being made. AND the AMA and some members of congress (like Ted Kennedy) are trying to stop pharmacists from making any drug that the FDA does not approve.Tomorrow we ask all advocates who care about medicine and the rights we have to call their US Senator and Congress members. You can get more information about this at savemymedicine.orgThanks You,Dr. Lynn Lafferty, Pharm.D., N.D.
