Guest guest
Hi, Dottie. Sounds like things are moving along quite well, and that you both are quite organized and ready. That's great news! O.K., first, if Dennis has passed all the other test, and completed the stress test without collapsing, you may assume that he passed that too. If the MELD score numbers and all other aspects of your application are in order, I see no reason why the committee would reject your application. I feel goose bumps about a great phone call from the hospital for you next week! I received my call at 9:30 p.m. and we had to be at the hospital asap, like within 2-3 hours. If you wait much longer, they may give the organ to someone else. Then, we spent the entire night simply waiting, dozing, waiting, a few preliminary stuff, etc, until around 5:00 a.m., when they moved me to the gurney to the prep room.Things went quickly after that, and after kissing my wife, it was about 7 hours later that I was her. First thing I said was something like, " Holy Crap, I'm alive! " She laughed. I stayed in the hospital 7 nights and was released. I could walk and do lots of things - the main item was cooking! I'd awake early and start cooking myself a huge breakfast (eggs, sausage, toast, taters, etc) and eat it all with glee. Then some sleep, then awake, etc. All went really well until I started getting infections and had to be hospitalized again, but I think I was more rare that most. I was warned, though, that most patients do have to be hospitalized again, for one reason or another, and that it's not a big deal, just a pain in the ass! Sounds like your on your way to success. Please keep asking any little questions just to be prepared. Oh, and yes, we did sleep in the same bed immediately when I was released, but don't expect much hanky-panky for awhile! Dennis will be in pain from the stitches and torn stomach muscles, plus the whole trauma to the body. > > Well all pre-testing is done for Dennis all test came out good. Only test we don't know the results are the stress test. Had the last visit yesterday with the surgon. Now it goes to the board on Monday at 3pm and they vote.We will get a call Tuesday or Wednesday telling us if he gets on the transplant list. Please pray for Dennis. After on the list they say NO LONGER THAN 3 MONTHS MAX.But they say probably 30 day's. > He is a type B blood and there is only one other on the list with B also. So the highest Meld score goes first. > Rick if your reading this did you get your call in the middle of the night? And when you did come home from the hospital did you need a hospital bed or did you sleep in your regular bed? And did your wife sleep in the same bed? Silly question right? I want to be as ready as I can. > And does anybody know about hepc after transplant? > Surgon implied that if Dennis could not tolertate treament to begin with he still would not.And that hepc can attck even harder. > > Dottie >

Guest guest
Hi Rick Your funny!!!! I'm not looking for any hanking panking lol!!! I have decided to sleep in another bed tho. we have 2 dogs that love to sleep with us. and 1 just won't stay off of Dennis so I think i will get a baby monator and the dogs and i will stay in another room. The doc told us too that there would be a good chance of going back in the hospital after coming home for a number of reasons. We are hour and half away but a easy drive. If my nerves don't get the best of me. I have to get his Mother who is already a basket case. Oh well I'll handle it. Thanks for talking with me.
