They have been using celexa in europe for a long time for migraines. I started over 6 months ago with the celexa and I was getting real bad ones before with blurry vision, etc...and I am happy to say that I have not had one in 6 months. I get sinus headaches and what not but Im an allergy sufferer so that is to be expected. My headaches are hormonally related and I think celexa regulated my hormones in some way....Suz
Guest guest
Hi, This is my MAIN side effect with Lexapro and other SSRI's. But, I *may* have condition that is contributing to mine. I didn't have problems with headaches until I started on Paxil. When my doc increased my dose from 25 mg to 37.5 mg I started having daily constant headaches - NOT FUN :-( I've since had testing done (CAT scan) and recently saw a neurologist. I still have to go to an eye doctor. I probably have something called psueduotumor - not as bad as it sounds. It means I have a little bit too much brain fluid. My psych switched me to Lexapro. My headaches are ok on 5mg but I really want to take the 10mg. I take it for GAD and moderate OCD. One thing my neurologist told me is that ALL SSRI's can have an affect on headaches, either good or bad. He is recommending Effexor or Prozac (in his opion the best SSRI for headache prevention). So I have to wait to talk to my psych when I see her on the 12th. Shells wrote- >Anyone that has been on Lex for awhile suffering from headaches? Guest guest
No, I don't have headaches, and I've been on Lex since September. What I do still have is clenching, and my psychiatrist added Buspar for that (at my initiation). I took him copies of some of the pages we've linked to here; he read them. He said clenching is a " rare " side-effect, but did not deny my symptom. My dentist doesn't seem to think it is rare at all; nor does a therapist I know. I think we who suffer from this need to keep speaking up to our psychiatrists. They may be in the dark about the extent of our suffering. Good luck with your headache remedies. headaches? > Anyone that has been on Lex for awhile suffering from headaches? My > headaches started around the time I upped my dose to 15mgs. Guest guest
You know, I have had a constant headache since I started this new challenge too, but I think mine are allergies to the new area and getting used to the new altitude.... Guest guest
Alot of people get headaches and other little symptoms when they start a new eating program...maybe it is that...people doing Atkins experience headaches too. > I'm kind of slow sometimes.... > > I started BFL two weeks ago, and I just realized today that I've been complaining of a headache for just about two weeks now. Guest guest
Are you using any supplements that may have artificial sweetners in them? I can't think of any other specific reason, but I noticed I have to watch because some of the supplements I've taken have caused a headache, depending on how I take them (ex. with food, without, etc.) Suzanne > I'm kind of slow sometimes.... > > I started BFL two weeks ago, and I just realized today that I've been complaining of a headache for just about two weeks now. Guest guest
I think I am just a headache machine. I used to have them all the time and they stopped for a few years. I guess it is just the new enviornment. They say that lots of people develope allergies and asthma here in El Paso, but you know what??? I have heard that every place we've moved... I just try to steer clear of the obvious and ignore the rest... I didn't think to look at my suppliments though... Guest guest
The only supplements I take are flax oil and simply protein whey protein powder, which is sweetened with stevia. Oh and the occasional meal replacement bar. I can't do anything with aspartame, which rules out myoplex, betagen, etc... :-( I'm going to each " real " food only today and see if that helps. (As in no protein powder or meal replacement bars.) Guest guest
Are you getting enough water in? When I am really dehydrated I get a headache kind of behind my eyes. Usually once I rehydrate it goes away but meds don't seem to help. Does anything in particular seem to set it off? Or is it just constant? We had the prob w/ light sensitivity and frequent urination also. Gamma is a diuretic and that is why you pee so much. (Also may have something to do with the headaches.) And yes, it can cause light sensitivity, but these can also be symptoms of a kidney condition. It is good that your doctor is being careful. Guest guest
No IVIG yet, it has been thrown around but not started. She takes Zyrtec, Periactic, Paxil, Prevacid, Valtrex, and Nizoral plus Tylenol/Advil/Motrin/Benedryl almost every day. She has had an unhealthy life and will be 6 in June. She was finally dx with an unknown PID in July of 2007. It has been a rough road for her. Thanks for your input!!!!!! Rita Wow!! Have you checked out the new books?? Guest guest
Hi, it's . If u don't remember I've had two lower back fusions. Since the surgeries I complain of headaches all the time! Is is possible that those surgeries caused all my headaches? I used to get migraines like 5 or 6 times a year but now I have a headache almost every day! I keep thinking it's sinuses but allergy medicine doesn't take it away all the time. I never thought about the coincidence that they started after operations. Is this possible? Guest guest
I haven't mentioned it to my dr yet, but my right arm is very strange now. It only started about two months ago and I thought it was carpel(?) tunnel because I paint and sew and do a lot of crafts where I use my right hand and arm in strange positions for hours at a time. But I looked up symptoms of CT and they didn't all fit. It feels like it's achey and heavy all the time. It goes numb and certain times when I move my body a certain way it shoots pain up my arm. At my first apt w/ dr he asked about my arms and I didn't mention it becaues I wanted to see if it went away. It's gotten worse (of course) so I am going to discuss it with him on the 13th. Since my back problems are mainly from sports I'm sure it's possible that my neck was affected too. And all the headaches I get. Do you suppose that just the back surgeries did something to my nerves and is affecting my arm? I do have damage higher up that hasn't been operated on (yet.) ParrotsofWA-Support Re: headaches? I do have damage higher up that hasn't been operated on (yet.) Guest guest
Hi Tim, The reason I didn't respond to this one is because I don't know what tmj is. Please elaborate some. Guest guest
Hi Tim I've been out of town, and have just started reading my email. I'm one of those who cannot respond because of my lack of knowledge regarding TMJ. I've had a neck fusion, but that was due to bone spurs and pinched nerves. I had severe headaches, and numbness from my neck down to my wrists. Sorry i can't help you out, possibly you aren't getting any reponses because no one is familiar with your problem. Hopefully, someone will be able to help you soon. Sincerely  Jeannie Re: headaches?
