They are hardy and aren't even hybrid! There is one variety that is smooth like a potato I've heard. I haven't found them yet and also I wonder if those(the smooth ones) are GMO'd or hybridized. If you find them please let me know where. They are so hardy you don't even have to plant them more than once. Just harvest what you want and the rest stays and grows the next spring. I really like the idea of using a food to destroy something so tough to kill when it becomes unbalanced.
