HI folks -

I am in the process of designing a patio cooking area off of our deck

area....(deck is attached to house and patio/cooking area will be

next to the deck steps to the ground)....

Some elements I'd like to incorporate are the following:

a food prep area so I can be outside while preparing food (counter

that is comfortable to work at)

a cooking area (probably gas grill)

a fireplace (we love campfires)

a place to cook using fire (dd and I are interested in pioneer living)

My questions for y'all are:

Do you do any food prep/cooking outdoors?

Do you have any other suggestions of spaces to consider?

Do you have any comments about those ideas?

Do you have any ideas that I should consider - pros or cons?

Anyone know anything about solar cooking?

Thanks so much!!

Jane

I saw an add for an " outdoor sink " that just struck me as a

great idea. It's a sink with a bucket or something at the bottom,

hooked to the garden hose for water. So you can scale

fish, clean sandy vegies etc. and not get all the really

yecchy stuff in the house. Now THAT is what I would install!

Maybe just use an old discarded sink, doesn't have to be

fancy.

I love your ideas though ...

My mom has an outdoor sink and I love the idea. Just this year they cemented

under it since it is right up next to the house this helps from any leakage

problems that could occur. They do not use the hose hook-up, but have a faucet.

She loves it.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough ''Hello's " to get you through the final goodbye.
