My mother also has had the cramps in her hands which caused her fingers to cramp

under another finger so we had her magnesium checked and it was low as I

expected.  After she started taking magnesium daily her finger cramping went

away!

I think the first line of treatment is Calcium supplements with magnesium to

ensure absorption.   Also as much proactive stretching as you can find time

for.

I get them in my feet and calves.  Very minor issues with my hands.  When I

get

them I try to bounce on the " balls of my feet " to help loosen them up.

Good luck,

My husband Nick has experienced strong muscle cramps. He's taken Gleevec since

2003.

The cramps are strong leg cramps which send him out of bed from sound asleep to

wide awake.  Sometimes we put very hot, wet, towels on the cramp site until it

calms down.

Other times Nick puts Ben-Gay on the site and it will soothe away those cramps.

Hardest problem is hand cramps during the day when he's carrying, walking and

holding something, writing, typing, and boom! Strong finger curling hand

cramps.  He's dropped what he's carried because the fingers won't let him hold

the items.

Nick's tongue has cramped!  His throat has cramped.  That's scary when he's

eating or has taken a drink of water, etc!

Do any of you have other ways of easing body cramps?

We appreciate each day though because it's a time to be together and share one

more day.  Yes, we've celebrated 50 years of marriage and each year is

precious.  Hope each of you has a warm home and loving companion to help and

enjoy your days. Stay safe as you walk in the snows!

, Nick's wife
