Guest guest
According to the Wall Street Journal article it is not FDA approved if I read it correctly. It said it only FDA certify tests that are sold over the counter, and that are administered to federal employees. I gave a basic message of the need of the reporters to investigate a loop hole in testing that is causing professionals to loss there license and parents to lose the custody of children for using products like lysol. I sent the WSJ article and the recent advisory. I didn't want to seem like a disgruntled person, venting about the problem. I wanted the reporter or reader to want look at the facts and the desparate need for this to be shown to the public and government. --- " Carol J. Guest guest
I understand what you are saying, I read your posts, I just felt so desparate since the labs won't stop performing this test and my diversion board will not stop performing these flawed test I was sending my message out, hoping the right person will read it and have an answer. I have heard conflicting thinks about FDA vs non FDA. Guest guest
Hi , I think you are VERY brave for sending your story out there, and hopefully someone will listen soon. I know how cornered it feels to be continually subjected to this test, when you feel it is so random whether it will be okay or not, and I thought exactly like you did; It won't happen to me because I am very careful and organized...I wish I had something better to say too you, but just know that you are not alone...And maybe I'm mistaken, but from what I understood, the test is not FDA approved. Guest guest
I don't see that presenting something in an informative and educational way is being a troublemaker. SAMHSA is the government entity that regulates the drug testing industry, and the fact that this non-biased body has weighed in on EtG is important. It is now in the licensing board's hands to react to the advisory. I believe that sending them the Advisory is a good way to let them know that WE KNOW about the advisory and WE KNOW THAT THEY KNOW about it now. And very soon, they shall also be held accountable for following its recommendations. EtG testing is not FDA approved. A home brewed lab test does not require FDA approval. SAMHSA doesn't use EtG in any of its testing programs. I believe the only reason the spoke up and issued the Advisory is b/c they recognized that what was happening was VERY WRONG. I asked Donna Bush what kind of feedback she is getting from the labs about EtG testing. In her words: "You don't regulate us...Mind your own business." That enfuriates me. In all reality, I suppose nobody could tell the labs what cutoffs to offer. However, in the NAC's discussion of EtG, one member did mention that the labs need to be told that their statements are libelous. Guest guest
Lorie, Who is Donna Bush? Sorry, I'm probably showing my ignorance here. Whoever she is she made a very inflammatory statement to you. Guest guest
Marsha, You got that wrong....the labs made that comment to Donna Bush! Donna Bush is from SAMHSA and is in charge of drug testing for federal employees. She was VERY instrumental in getting the black box warning put into the advisory!! She is an AWESOME lady and VERY much understands our cause!! > > > > I just finished sending to prime time live and 20/20 the info > > regarding this flawed testing. Guest guest
Donna Bush is a forensic toxicologist and drug testing team leader for the Division of Workplace Programs at SAMHSA. Her statement "You don't regulate us...Mind your own business" was describing the lab's attitude toward SAMHSA with regard to EtG. Donna Bush very much supports us. Guest guest
With in a few days I am tying up a paper, with simple terms and facts about vaccines, healthfreedom and the atypical ani psychotics, and Amy's gig on Mom against, antidepresants. Included will be the autism issues, and I do this for several reasons. I talk to people when I go out, be it the grocery, or nail shop my friends run, and I am amazed at the lack of informed citizens. I spend a lot of time talking to each person and with a handout I can get a lot of imformation out with websites, ect, and my phone number so if a person is really intrested, they can ring me or email me. I think I will get more people in on these important issues, and what I am experiencing is they are really into it, they are just inexperienced at research, and pressed for time. That's the plan,People are listening, it's just putting this down in black and white and allowing them to run with it, or not. It is about choice.
