Guest guest
Dennis, Maybe try exercising? It may be that you just need a jumpstart and everything will flow. Doing pushups seems to have a great hormonal effect, such that if I'm very depressed (when bad things happen) I max out on them and I am in a great mood for a little bit. A half hour of moderately intense aerobics might work better for a sustained effect. If I start the day off with activity, I feel good, but often at work, I work at a living history museum, I have to read for a little while, which just makes me want to fall asleep (the reading is often technical and boring). If I could fit it into my schedule to actually get a half hour of sustained aerobics before I leave I think maybe this woudl be solved. On days where I do little physical activity, I tend to feel proportionately tired. Caffeine has more of a sustained effect independent of activity or food, but, then again, if I just sit around with caffeine in my system it can produce moderate anxiety. Peace, Chris ____ " What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature. Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the truth, and for those who do them wrong. Guest guest
Good article about food and depression! It talks about a variety of factors that influence seratonin levels, including proteins, carbs, and a few other things I had not thought about, and gets into the chemistry. The page has links to other depression articles too. http://depression.about.com/library/weekly/aa071299.htm Heidi
