Last week I wasn't feeling well, so I went to the doctors and he ran some blood

tests on me. This week he wanted me to come back in to talk to him about the

results and he told me my liver tests came back elevated. He got me in with a

specialist today at 2:00 p.m. and they are doing a bunch more blood tests on me,

plus an ultra sound of my liver next Wednesday. Some of these tests they

won't get the results back on for 7 to 10 days, so I wait to find out what's

going on for sure.

I talked to Debbie, my midwife and she looked up those tests with the high

levels in a medical book she has and read them to me tonight. The ALK

Phosphatase one says in her book that it will be elevated with pregnancy and

according to her source I would be within normal ranges on that test. The other

two are definitely high and she's glad they are checking into those. She did not

feel I need to rule out our home birth at this point, as long as it is not

effecting the baby. She does want me to keep her posted on what they find. In

the mean time, she suggested I get some dandelion tincture, Swedish bitters, or

liver tonic from a health food store and to be sure to eat lots of greens. I'll

call the closest health food store in the a.m. to see if they carry anything

like that, so I can pick it up. Does anyone else have any diet suggestions or

otherwise that may be helpful to me and the baby at this point? That's it for

now, until we get the tests results back and we'll go from there. It's always

something it seems!
